Thread: Does anyone elese regret purchasing the USF DLC?13 Feb 2015, 21:56 PM No regrets here. USF are quite fun to play with and require a different approach than the two vanilla factions. Vehicle crews in particular add a very entertaining dimension to the faction, ensuring your tanks are never out of action for long. I feel I got my $5 worth of enjoyment from the USF before I got tired of their predictable openings and stale late game and went back to playing Soviets. In: Lobby

A number of the balance issues facing CoH2 are intractably tied to core faction design and cannot be properly addressed without some degree of faction design overhaul. Examples of this include Soviet reliance upon call ins preventing changes to the current call in meta and OKW reliance on shreck Volks for AT perpetuating Volk blobs. In: Lobby

The shrek on Volks is a crutch that allows OKW to deal with with early game to mid game vehicles because they can't get an serious mechanized AT out onto the field until later in the game. On that we agree. The whole goal should be to shift more of OKW's AT burden away from Volks and onto more dedicated AT platforms, namely the Rakketen. Anyway, I think this thread is getting derailed. Maybe 120 muni upgrade for Volks will deter shrek blobing and add MP40s for AI capabilities. I'd tend to agree. If the shreck upgrade provided double shrecks at increased cost while simultaneously decreasing the AI of the squad quite a bit volks would be in a much better place. The upgrade decision would be tactical instead of automatic. The high survivability of the squad might still be a concern however. Rakketenwerfers are a thing and although they need to be better at their job they should be providing the majority of hard AT for OKW with shreck Volks acting as backup AT to discourage flanks. I might suggest giving Volks an upgrade that provides a pair of MP44s instead of MP40s. Assgrens run into some scaling issues mid game and the whole reason for the upgrade is to make Volks scale. Thread: PGrens with double panzerschrecks against USF13 Feb 2015, 19:42 PM I'd just like to point out that there was a point during the CoH2 beta where Pgrens only had a single shreck upgrade. The result was massive blobbing of Pgrens similar to what we see now with Volks. To solve the problem relic gave Pgrens the double shreck upgrade we see today so that the squad has to choose to be good vs infantry OR tanks but not both at the same time. Relic then promptly forgot the lesson they learned from Pgrens and a year later designed Volks. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Should the SU76 cost fuel?13 Feb 2015, 19:29 PM The SU-76 is a vehicle and all vehicles in CoH2 cost fuel. Even the Kubel costs fuel now. The 76 either needs to be re-balanced to function more like the Scott so it has a defined AI role in T4 or it needs to be swapped with the T70 and be re-balanced to have a defined AT role in T3. I would personally favor the latter solution as it would create an interesting choice between tiers. T3 would offer T34s that need to be backed by SU-76s to take on heavier armor while T4 would have SU-85s to deal with armor but have to rely on T70s or Katyushas for infantry. That way there is some nice synergy between the tanks in each tier instead of the current situation where T3 is AI tanks with minimal AT capabilities and T4 is pure AT tanks and arty.
