....and, for what it's worth, I do try to adjust to changes in the game. I don't call for nerfs or buffs, just because my standard stuff doesn't work. I'm sure I'm not the only one. |
I don't use strats. That does mark me as a casual player, but there it is. I read the guides, and the forums, to get a sense for what works and what doesn't, but I've never been a "take this house, build this cache, make X troops, profit" guy. I actually enjoy the chaos of large team games, and for the most part I fly by the seat of my pants, relying on a solid knowledge of the units themselves, and a little micro. In fact, I would venture to say that large team games are tougher; none of your meticuously researched, and carefully planned strats mean anything in team games, with the exception of ATs who actually coordinate. Not only that, but I ve always thought it kind of lame that a player could memorize a formula that enabled him to win 99% of the time. Anyway, it's for those reasons and more that I play team games. At the same time, I don't often bitch about OP this or that, but this patch is indefensible. I do understand the sentiment from OKW players; as a long-time Allied player, I was overjoyed when Brits hit the field. They had punch, they had power....to the point that I knew they would get nerfed hard. Now they have. So I totally get why OKW players think there's nothing wrong with this patch. |
Yeah, Relic! Do not balance for 3v3s or 4v4s!
There is, after all, no interest for team games in the player base. No siree. I mean, look at DotA 2 and LoL, literally the most played games in the world. I bet they are rolling in that mad dough because they are balanced for 1v1.
Also while we're at it, Relic, please make sure to ignore and fuck over the experience of the majority of your player base because of an elitist vocal minority on the forums.
In fact, make CoH3 for top 200 1v1 players only, that way you can sell guaranteed 100 copies to cover all the uber balancing costs.
Oh yeah. This. This guy right here. + 5 000 000 000.
So sick of that BS elitist attitude, and absolute ignorance of the truth; team games are a very popular game mode, and thus, a big deal. But hey, like this guy said, you "elite" players have fun playing the same group of guys, when team games finally dies out from player frustration and eventual abandonment. |
Wow, so 10 pages of comments on this page, and I would venture to say at least 75% of which is negative comments.
For me, the bottom line is, I paid for this game, I don't really play any others, so I'm switching to OKW. I`m not a huge fan, I prefer Allies for sure, but I also want to win once in a while, not lose every. single. game.
No, I`m not a pro, not even close. I have a full-time job, and a family to support. I play for fun. Thus, all these people who are better players than me, saying ìt`s not that bad`, are either Axis fans, or have the skill to pull off a win.
Also, I only play large team games. Team games in which 7 of the last 7 games I played featured 3 or 4 OKW players. A sign of the times, obviously.
I know team games are always a crap shoot, but I would normally win at least 3 or 4 times out of 10. Now that`s not going to happen...and it`s not even close either.
So go ahead...lay it on me with the `L2P`, and all that other garbage....I`m switching to OKW, because hey, easy wins are fun, and games are about having fun. |
Well, by the time youre putting up with that harrassment, you'll hopefully have one RE squad and one Rfn squad, which means you can hopefully flank and focus the Kubel. The sturmpios are thankfully not as lethal as they were, so you can kind of ignore them for a few seconds, and remember that if the kuble is moving, it's not in suppresion mode. Thus, keep it on its toes. Move your guys around so he has to constantly re-adjust. If the option is there, I jump into a building, and let my guys fire at it from there, stalling until he goes away, or another squad comes up to join my first one. |
Yup, as a customer and CoH fan I deserve their respect and attention and I want to be able to enjoy the game.
You don't "deserve" anything. This is what's wrong with our society; the culture of "the customer is always right". You imply that to enjoy the game, it has to go your way...guess what, this ain't Burger King, son.
Your thread is wearisome, and its topic is stale. Your rage, while amusing, is also mis-placed. I won't go into the details that others have expounded upon for you, because I'm assuming that, with all of your comments about poor language skills, you can read.
Your thread has all the classic hallmarks of someone who has gotten accustomed to easy wins playing Axis, and now is petulant at having to actually employ tactics and strategy.
Also, "yup", and "yep" are not words; but then, that's the average language and communication skills we can expect from a rage-poster. Trashing someone's written word on a forum comprised of international players is not cool. Albert Einstein once said, "if you judge a fish by its ability to ride a bicycle, it will go its whole life believing it is stupid". Try expressing yourself in Italian, Russian, Swedish, etc...and see how well that works out for you. Go ahead. I'll wait. |
What about a thermite grenade for a special ability? Useful for destroying resource caches or destroying unmanned AT guns/mgs, while behind enemy lines.
I was actually reading about the rangers during their assault on Point Du Hoc and they used thermite grenades to destroy the German artillery pieces. M1941 LMGs would be sick as well.
+1 thermite grenades ! |
Hi all,
First of all, I am completely unaware of the "numbers" behind the Rangers; this is just my opinion...they seem somewhat underwhelming. For a squad that costs 400 MP, and comes at 3 CP, I expected a bit more punch. They seem to die fairly easily, at least they did to fallschirmjaegers, a unit which , if I'm not mistaken, costs the same. Also, I seem to remember a description of them as being troops that specialize in marksmanship and demolitions. Yet, they are lacking in demo charges, and any special marksmanship related ability. At the very least, in order to fulfill their role as frontline shock troops, I'd like to see Fire Up. I'd also like the Thompsons to be free. Leave everything else as is, I guess, since they don't seem to have very many hit points.... |
you guys have no sense of humour. |
Hello, and welcome to the inaugural "holy fuck this commander is gay" thread.
First off, I'd like to congratulate our new Rangers on their graduation from Ms. Petunia's finishing school. Please remember not to kill any of the enemy, as this might affect their morale. You're doing very well in that regard so far. Also, excellent job in dying as expediently as possible, as this will also affect the enemy's morale, for the better.
I'd also like to remind the smoke barrage not to have too big of a radius, as that might actually be useful.
On the other side of the equation, I'd like to compliment the sturmpioneers on their close-quarters lethality, and encourage them to perhaps acquire another close-quarters weapon to further enhance their deadliness. Oh wait.
Also, I feel that I would be remiss in not encouraging the OKW to make use of fire. You're on the right track, my friends, but don't be stingy; there's nothing wrong with more flames ! Why not equip the raketenwerfer with a side-mounted flamethrower ? Or perhaps load the panzerschwerer cannon with incendiary shells ? I also suggest considering an ability, available at 2 CP, allowing you to send care packages to the Allies. However, upon opening them, the Allied troops do not find socks and candy, but rather, MORE FLAMES ! Please give it some serious thought. |
