Well, axis players had to adapt for 2,5 years now, allies became stronger and stronger. Even if survived the early game and killed early light vehicles like stuart, AA ht, t70, aec, it was nearly impossible to win vs even players in lategame.
As allies you can make chilling games, as axis need to be strong concentrated and make no mistakes.
After the last patch, the early and mid is a bit more even, I like it, but the endgame is still allies favoured.
Looking forward to the next patch. You will cry even more and will finally need to learn to fight with more effort.
I feel like this whole statement is April Fools related. Are we even playing the same game ? |
Sure, there's always the possibility that the opponents are better, but that just serves to illustrate the broken matchmaking system; almost every team game I've ever played, both as Axis and Allies has been a stompfest for us or them. I can almost count on one hand the number of games that were like, "wow, good game guys ! Seriously, both sides did really well, and that was genuinely fun to play !"
PS. in before "then play AT" |
This is what I don't get: it's widely acknowledged that Allies have the early game and Axis have the late game. I don't understand that, and don't even "asymetrical balance" me. There's got to be a way to make the factions different enough to give them their own personality, advantages, and disadvantages without resorting to a mechanism wherein (in team games) Allies must win in 15 mins, and Axis must hold out past 15 mins. DISCLAIMER: I play all factions. I always play 2v2 and up. And GENERALLY (generally, mind you), it's easier to win with Axis. Just sayin'. |
For what it's worth, I agree with everyone who stated that it would be absurd to punish "leavers".
1) I am married, with 3 kids. After everyone goes to bed, I have maybe 1.5 hrs to myself to play 1 or 2 games, before I too have to sleep before getting up to be at work for 0700. I don't have time to fuck around in a game that is clearly lost, with random teammates that refuse to surrender.
2) Likewise, since I usually play Allies, the game is tough enough in 4v4 against Axis, without having to play 2v4 after two guys drop.
3) I also won't play with teammates who appoint themselves "boss", and throw a fit when the team doesn't follow their plan. The constant pinging gets annoying, and in any case, it usually ends with them bombarding my base. Which leads me to...
ABSOLUTELY PUNISH ABUSIVE PLAYERS !- I can put up with imbalances, biased maps, etc...but nothing makes me want to quit the game more than these inbred, small-minded troglodytes. It's kind of halfway understandable if they're losing and start hurling abuse, but it's especially obnoxious when they're winning, and you graciously offer up "hey well played, GG", and they still throw abuse. As someone has mentioned, some of these comments are entirely inappropriate as well. FYI, opposing players like this will also cause me to leave. "Allied" players who engage in teamkilling also deserve a penalty. Overall, the maturity level of the players of this game seems to be higher than other games, but there is no lack of players who have discovered the magic of the Axis "I win" metas, and think it makes them pros. Again, if that's how you wanna play, fine. You don't need to be a dick about it. So...
Disable "all player" in-game chat, leaving it enabled only for team, or...
Develop a system wherein toxic players have shuriken teleported into their small intestines. |
You think USF mortar is fine lol?
It performs well, no doubt about it. I only play team games, and I like using it as USF. However, when I play Axis, it's not a huge problem for me. There are counters to it, and as the game draws on, it loses some of its relevance. I can see it being a problem for you if you favor a "campy" defensive style of play though. |

I'm NOT a pro, and I prefer to play Allies in large team games. Losing at this game is a fact of life for me. Still, I play 2 maybe 3 games, then I stop if I feel like I'm really beating my head against a wall. My general rule of thumb is if I start to hurl abuse at the opposing team, I just leave. It's embarrassing, solves nothing, but more importantly is an indicator that no one should be this stressed over a video game. Once in a while I play Axis if I just want to win without working too hard at it... |
I will venture a guess: those things people are saying generally refer to 1v1, and 2v2. The comment on the US mortar however, can generally be attributed to axis fanboys who are vexed at no longer having the best units in the game, in every category |
- nobody cares about fals bug formation and their tirget size 0.87 while other elite units like Pgrens, jagers and so on have 0.8
The priority of this game - is making USF great again to injoy funboys.
but emyone doesnt care OKW need put in the line with other competive fraction:
- give them smoke
- give them mortar, cause leig is really trash
- give sniper, sounds really sexy okw vs USF sniper
- give flameth by default, cause its urban weapon denied the main mechanic system - covering
- mg with no potential dps
- revamp commanders, cause of low viability
- invisible at gun with low aiming and range - trash
- revamp healing system
Hmm... I think you're on to something, but you're being too moderate about it. Someone needs to spend some time to explore what all the best aspects of all the factions are, Axis and Allied, and then just give all of those to OKW. |
I can´t recount how many times I have been the victim of a pack of invisible rakettenwerfers hunting my tanks down.
Sorry to go off topic, but this conjures hilarious images of 50s style biker gangs. Leather jacket wearing raketenwerfer crews, with greased back hair, "hey Sherman, looks like you're on the wrong side of town..." |
I admit I haven't played Brits since the last patch, so. Balance patches are for the better of the game but it also changes the playing field constantly.
I guess the game is resonably balanced but I do feel Panther needs something and I wonder what the reasoning is behind Soviet and Wehr not being able to forward base when Brits got it.
