So now looks like US need to tech to get engineer to lay mines like the old Brit with the Sapper. With Engineer in Tier II (or III?) US will be super vulnerable to mines. OKW get the universal mines so now I think both Allied and Axis side each will have 1 faction using universal mines(Soviet-OKW), the other using 2 types of mine(US-Ost).
Americans are not Brits. Go to CoHOfficial on Youtube, and watch Relic's uploaded stream. All first core units for all factions are engineers that can upgrade to have mine detectors. Everyone has an equal chance ar countering mines, the argument is which mines are better. |
I'm looking forward to half the new units getting hit by the nerfstick once there are actually enough players for a good meta with all 4 factions to develop.
If that happens, all hell would break loose and CoH2 would be no more as so many people would quit. So many people bought WFA and they and already saw several things they bought with that money. Fat chance now of nerfs, unless people complain for no apparent reason. Why would you look forward to this, exactly? I think panzergrenadiers are going to get tweaked because what is supposed to be the best Ostheer assault troops will practically be OKW's core unit without the nade and schrecks. The core factions would be changed as a result of WFA, not the other way around. Meta improves, not downgrades. |
I'm surprised that no one has noticed that rear echelon don't have mines.
I actually did, i was just more interested in OKW. M20 is a good way to sneak American AT mines around, and riflemen can plant mines doctrinally (cant tell if they will be AI, though) |
Yeah but they have that instant-pinning ability showed off in the stream.
Besides, it's gonna look real silly when rifles are pinning MG 42 armed Grenadiers.
The mg42 easily outranges them, shredding them to pieces. Distance is key.
On a side note, i completely forgot Sturmpioneers cannot build cache. Also, rear echelon vet 2 ability is extremely interesting.... |
I still don't like that the so called Rear Echelon Troop can insta-win any engagement though. Seems like the opposite of what they should be doing.
Not really. Just keep your distance and you'll wear them down. They are only 4 man squads, after all. |
^^
That pseudo AT gun fired like the Panzershreck except with more accuracy and range. It was a lot lighter than a PAK (more like HMG weight). The 88mm warhead was similar to the shreck's.

If this doesnt get nerfed, and there is more than this, then i am probably going to play only OKW for a year. |
Nice finds, coh2player.
On that AT gun, everyone should know what it shoots based on the name. Looks may be deceiving, but that little thing is very powerful. Argh! Another thing i cannot wait for... |
If penals were able to get one ptrs or one flamer (one or the other, AI or AT) then a faster Ostheer T2 is easily in favor. In fact, i dont think that is needed! I NEVER buy AT grenades, and i have no problem spitting out an AT gun earlier. Im all in for making t2 come out earlier to counter m3. Soviets never worry about rushing for AT, yet Ostheer has to. Thats not exactly fair... |
It's situational, but often your grens cant get to it because they get suppressed by a maxim for example, while the zis barrages support weapons and fights off scout cars and tanks. So the barrage is giving it a one unit army role.
As for the abilities you list above, they all should have a specific purpose otherwise they would introduces problems in game play.
Then you lost because the enemy used more manpower and munitions than you, and he hardcountered you. Nothing to see here, folks. Grens arent rambo troopers. |
The fact that people are complaining that an AT gun has too much AI is also ridiculous. Their barrages are so easy to predict, and such a waste of muni... |
