Railway give little warning also. In the patch if far more cost efficient ability.
How does railway give little warning? It has the smoke precisely where first shell is going to hit and long time of arrival. It is the perfect example of full scale warning. |
It's time per model; not MP per model.
Oh, sorry then. For some reason I thought you have used same penalty.
Btw. Why was manpower penalty abandoned? Increasing time somehow makes no sense to me as the reason why you build FRP is to have your troops constantly on the field. Making you pay more for this is justified as having troops on the frontline at all times is like having more troops than you actually have. But increasing reinforcement time takes away the whole point of building FRP imo. |
Even though I dont agree with them, I understand why so many people opposed against FRP disable cooldown, as in lower ranked games concept of soft-retreat may not be known. Still, even if this feature is getting abandoned I think a +75% cost may be too hefty. This is 3 times bigger penalty than before. Did you try the +50% variant somehow? |
I think its important to note that stuka dive bomb is the only off map that doesn't feature a warning smoke and so it has to be more expensive for the damage it does. Still, it should be able to one-shot artillery as long as other expensive off maps can. |
This patch is not the fall patch that has been put on hold, but entirely new patch that build upon a small selection of old changes. Emplacement changes didn't make it in becouse there were many players against them. |
If there is ever going to be coh on pacific, it will most likely look like a combination of coh1 shore/beach maps and blitzkrieg 2, a ww2 rts that actually featured pacific island maps. So in effect there may be some shoreline at one side of the map, or the map is going to be totally in the middle of island. Both sides are definitely going to be fighting from almost symetrical positions thorough terrain with jungle, roads, some small buildings and some bunkers. Nothing more. Naval support probably similar to current railway offmaps.
This is the only way to place rts in pacific, still in case of relic it is hard to imagine such decision becouse it would mean they can't sell any army dlcs. Brits fighting in moskow outskirts is already stupid, but germans fighting on pacific island would be totally out of the scale. |
I know that some gamers would disagree, but if you are actually using your PC profesionally and gaming is nothing more than a hobby for you, you should think of spending the money you have for your PC on best components, like CPU, GPU, more or faster ram and so on and not on monitor. Gaming is the only field of computer usage where high refresh rate monitors make any difference and even there its not a big one. Definitely not worth the price of linked ASUS products, unless you make a living off gaming. |
btw don't trust the guy telling you to get more than 8 gb of ram when coh2 is not even using more than 50% of that, memory issue is solved by restarting game after 2-3 battle but buying more ram just for the sake of it is stupid.
What settings do you use? Do you really belive coh2 can run on high settings and resolution of 1080p or more in 4gb? For me the game itself easily reaches 8 gigabytes of ram usage after a few games and as far as I remember from the times when I had only 8gb of memory, coh2 crushes when memory ends. Plus, you never actually have only coh2 running as there are always many things in the background as well.
It is true though, that if you run the game with low resolution textures, both ram and vram usage will go down significantly. |
Great article man, I always tune into your post tournament strategy/BO/Meta analyses. Having read through it would I be right to say that the present state of your chosen faction in the meta has minimal/zero bearing on your ability to climb up or down the ranked ladder? Well, besides your ability to adapt to balance patch changes I suppose, but the true "power level" of your faction at that state in time in 1v1s.
As long as you are not in that top 1% of the ladder, yes. And its a shame that so many players fail to realise that. |
You can only see that by doing a DPS ratio curve between the 2 units.
For instance its highly probable that:
Thompson Rangers/Assault grenadier, optimum range (for ranger) is around 15 drops around 10 and then slightly increases close to 0.
Thompson Rangers/Grenadiers, optimum range around 10-15 and the drops around 0.
Showing both curves is not enough. To get the optimal fighting range curve of both units you have to divide effective hp of squad A by the dps curve of squad B and the other way round. Then you have to plot both hp/dps curves or their difference. |
