It is actually quite funny to see people assume that AT must be hard AT like atg.... and assume that soft counters(faust, at nades) have already been teched
I usually only tech at nades for soviets when I see light veh and put out guards to deter, shreks for volks. The others I seen to be able to get the lights out as fast as the enemy or faster.
The whole point of light vehicles, and these are what you are usually getting your first AT against, is their shock value. Having AT on the field minimises the shock value, while teching it only when seeing the vehicle adds additional shock value to enemy units. They simply have free reign untill you come up with a counter. AT guns are the best counter becouse they have range that allows them to cover big part of the map and ambush enemy vehicles. They also scale better than any other early AT thanks to high penetration and damage (not counting M-42) so they are not becoming useless in AT department late game, just like guards. PIATs and shreck also scale well but, taking into consideration new patch, shreck is as much of investment as AT gun (about same amount of mp both for pgrens and sturmpio, they loose most AI power with upgrade) and PIAT needs good attack ground micro and is also probably going to get nerfed soon. Its worth it to learn PIAT micro though, its the best late game counter to super heavies. |
The correct answer to volkblobs is probably: wait for the patch. There is no point in learning how to deal with volk shreck blobs if they are going to be removed from the game really soon.
No other kind of blob has such AT power, so you can beat most of them by kiting with a vehicle. Also mind that you don't really need to wipe to win a game, wipes are usually pretty rarely, especially in 1v1s, but also in 2v2s and can loose player a game so players good avoid them. That means you won't wipe them unless you get really good rng or they overextend way too much. So it's generally better to master not loosing squads by yourself. |
Personally, I would appreciate keeping them useful with their MP 40s with veterancy instead, because GODDAMMIT THERE'S STGS EVERYWHERE AND NO MP 40S
+1 Plus the game makes it look like like mp40 is super bad, significantly worse than PPSh or Thompson. Sure it was worse, but not that much worse. It was also much more usefull than grease gun, while in game these 2 have similar performance. Giving veterancy bonuces is needed so that buffed mp40 doesn't break early game, but later on the 5 men mp40 squad shouldn't deal less damage than 4 men PPSh squad.
I would move them to one of the common commanders though. Buffing one of the top ostheer doctrines can really screw up the ballance. |
I guess he is asking how to distinguish mod skins and official skins, to know which ones are going to be visible by the opponents in automatch.
My answer is: chceck in modding hub. Or check the description.
Also remember that official skins come in two types: historical and unhistorical ones, it's quite easy to distinguish them if you have a tiny bit of historical knowledge. But why is it important? Becouse there is a toggle in menu that allows players to hide unhistorical skins and it also does it in custom games, not only automatch. So if you are playing automatch you will never know if other players can see your unhistorical skins. If you play with friends you can ask them to allow unhistorical skins in their game settings. |
It deals easily with any tank of its timing or earlier except for cromwell. Cromwell has an edge thanks to small target size, you just shouldn't try to 1v1 cromwell with the p4. In all other matchups it is really good, especially against infantry. It is also fast enough to work as counter harassment unit.
Remember to hit stop button just before it fires. Even if it doesn't stop, the fact that you hit the button makes all shots twice as accurate (or you could think of it as all enemy tanks having twice the target size) untill you give another move order. This actually does a huge difference, It can also lure a cromwell into a trap of trying to flank your p4 while you have a pak in range. |
snow maps veto for aixe ?
but but but
if you play wermaht you have mortors you have mgs the snow is on your side
snow slows troops so this puts your mg or mortors in an advanteg
troops thet move slow are an easy target for mortors
There are barely any places with deep snow now, it's there only where they forgot to remove it. So this actually is more an graphical change than gameplay one. Frozen lakes can make a difference but these are not ostheer friends since they make flanking easier. |
0.5 Moving vs the 0.6 of the OKW one.
I would rather lower that value on okw panther to keep it in line with all other axis tanks. And all not historically stabilised tanks in whole game. |
The thing is that ost panther is cheaper and it makes a huge difference in lenghtening games where its low pop and cost matters. In team games I would even say its spammable.
It also is one of those units that make ostheer so commander independent. In current build going for non meta commander as soviets or usf is often a death sentence, while ostheer can deal with late game easily if they tech t4 and go for panther instead of callin. It definitely has a purpose in ostheer tech tree and doesn't need any huge adjustments. |
There was a problem before that was probably coused by ragequits. The brackets didn't upgrade for like 5-10 minutes after the match. This may be connected to this issue. |
