I thing most people bitching about this game just do it because they think that they are so good at this game or they do it because some very good players do it. Hard truth. Let's be honest, I bitch and cry when I lose as Axis or Allies after a game. Now the armour is T-34: 150.0, Sherman: 160.0, Pz IV: 180.0. Apparently Relic don't know what "effective armour is". No offense, but if you are comparing WoT's semi-realistic armor to CoH, you have no idea about game mechanics. CoH is not a simulator. In those realistic armor calculation the angle which the shot hits the armor is very important. There is no HP in the simulators. In CoH, armor is just a means to balance the game, and adds a little bit of RNG for fun (at least it's supposed to do that). CoH uses very simple calculations. It's not like T34 has crappy armor in CoH because they don't know about effective armor, it's because T34 is supposed to be an early, kinda crappy, jack of all trades tank in this game. Please do not argue about history or other games' mechanics when we are discussing balance. In: COH2 Gameplay

Fix: Step one - reset PTRS to initial prepatch values Step two - increse PTRS penetration value Step 3 - Done. Then Guards will be crappy peashooters again. I think only a weapon profile can fix this. Guards are kinda OK now, and they pay off their price by being a jack of all trades. A different PTRS profile for Cons with crappy pre-patch accuracy-or even worse-and maybe better ROF will fix thinks up IMO. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Relic's Poorest Design: Contrary To All Reasonable Thought6 Apr 2015, 04:36 AM Some small tweaks can change these crits in a way which is both interesting (Dramatic as Quinn likes to call them) and player-influenced. Some of them have been discussed by forum members. - Crits only happen if the final blow is done by a soft counter, and also increasing the chance of crits for PTRS, Ostheer Panzer Schreck, Soviet Light ATG (Don't remember the name) etc. Hard counters like high caliber ATGs or Tank cannons should not be able to crit, with the exception of "Engine destroyed" crit - Abandoned vehicles all have destroyed engine. - If possible, the direction of the shot determines the crit type, frontal shots cause Crew shock, main gun destroyed (and similar) and rear shots cause engine damage - Nukes (Stuka dive bomb, IL2 precision strike) should not cause death crit if the potential damage is more than the remaining health of the unit (Stuka should always kill the stupid katyusha) - Multiple crits are not possible (Kuble dying after receiving 4 freakin shots from SU85) -Abandoned vehicles need fuel to function maybe? (Ardennes assault) - Just nerf the damage of Kamikaze skill planes, the damage is TOO DAMN HIGH. -------------- I know these are not gonna happen because Quinn "DramaQueen" Duffy likes the randomness and the EPIC DRAMA of every battle. In 1v1 the ratios are a lot closer to half and for example in CoH 1 2v2 AT had a lot more allied players because allies were a lot easier to play. The reason for 90% axis pre-patch is only a small part due to 'axis are cool' and a much larger part due to OKW being such an incredibly easy faction to play. I would say it's more about the "coolness" factor. Just look the forum arguments. PANTHER WAS DA BEST TANK, TIGER IZ DIS, KT IS DAT, MG42 DAKADAKA HISTORY GERMAN OP SHERMAN PAPER ARMOR. There is an aura of coolness around German army which makes players to play axis more. In: COH2 Gameplay

That said the big "I win" building on Ettbruck or whatever the frack that's called and the church on Trois Points are stone and thus have insanely high HP and take two stuka barrages to kill, and the incendiary barrage won't set them on fire. Which just goes to show that the whole FHQ thing is stupid and a bad design choice given that COH2 maps have far fewer territories to cap. FHQs were annoying but not batshit OP in vCOH because a) you could still hold significant territory while fighting an FHQ and b) no combat bonuses. It's another stupid COH2 cartoon game gimmick. I don't think they should be upgradable at all in neutral territory. Just remember, it's a fun, casual RTS! and c) you were only able to make a FHQ on owned, connected territory. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Intentional lagging players??4 Apr 2015, 22:57 PM Oh no, it's that cheating in CoH2 is not very common, although many people accuse each other of cheating. As far as I remember, the only possible hack is Maphacking. Things like lagging other players, resource hack, drop hack etc etc. are caused by other factors like bad connection and server issues. If you dig in the forums you can find a lot of in-detail explanations by Inverse. He has deep knowledge about coding and network and hacks and stuff.
