I wouldn't want the BAR to just be another LMG. It should be a jack-of-all-trades, a mixture of assault rifles and LMG's, but not as good as either one at their native ranges.
But yes, it needs to be slightly cheaper and slightly better. I haven't equipped my squads with them at all for 4 or 5 games now, rather use the munitions to toss pineapples or drop abilities.
I don't regard the 'zook as anything more than a deterrent to armor. I very rarely equip anyone but the RE with it. I don't like how it makes the CPT all but useless, though. His squad isn't really suited to combat at any range against anything in particular. |
I buy everything. Reasons:
1. OCD. Simply need to collect it all.
2. I like variety.
3. I want to support the game.
4. A fool and his money are soon parted. |
The PTRS-rifles are such poor AT, I don't see why they couldn't act as AI as well. Perhaps as simply rifles with slow rate-of-fire and inability to fire on the move? |
Now I've never said this before about any unit or anything else, but this ability is so obviously OP it's ridiculous. There are multiple occasions where I've both expected this to come, and then seen it come, and then even when I've blitzed away with my Panthers or Tigers right away there is no way to avoid them being killed.
In fact, I've managed to get away from it only once, and even then had to drive to the opposite corner of the map to hide in fear. |
Callins are generally considered to be a bit problematic, for sidestepping tier/tech and making non-callin Commanders quite marginal.. *snip*
A well put, constructive and positive post. If only more people expressed themselves this way on the forums. |
Last game I built 2 penals 1 con 2 snipers (note: no maxims!) and was accused of both spamming and blobbing. It looks like any form of playing that someone loses to is quickly branded blobbing and spamming these days, whether or not it really is.
Hands up, do you know of anyone that actually has attack-moved his entire force and won consistently that way? I've personally never seen an obvious and successful mindless mass attack-move. For all I know, the opponent could be maneuvering like crazy within that huge "blob" of his, I really wouldn't be able to tell. I do know that with the USF I do need to micromanage the units at all times, or else risk a lot of squad wipes. |
I don't know if this has been reported yet, but I've repeatedly seen the units tagged by a teammates IR become permanently visible on the minimap. It seems this happens to US units especially. Unfortunately I don't have a replay available, but I'll add one if I come across this again.

There's also a reason 3 v 3 and 4 v 4 AT never got a match in the original CoH..
I think it's fine the way it is. When you're playing random, you know that you've got an uphill battle. Getting together an AT group is not that hard if you want the advantage. |
I've had some problems with this but my brother keeps getting drops after freezes along with one of my regular mates on almost every match.
The game freezes every now and then for a few seconds, but usually it simply catches up to the other players. Sometimes it results in a drop. |
And a tank needs more than 2000 xp to be vet 3. So when in the tank, the crew with 2000xp only qualifies for vet 1, even though on foot they're vet 3. |
