"Vipper is often disingenuous at best and deliberately misrepresents information at worst"
"However, this talk of rebalancing allied TDs is hopeless because half the people who want them nerfed want them to be nerfed because they think their Panthers and Tigers should be an instant "I win" button on the battlefield, immune to damage from all but RNGesus" and thus lose penetration"
People in glass houses shouldnt throw stones. If vipper did a test he would certainly have a sample size larger than 1. |
Flexibility isn't just about what kinds of targets a unit can engage, it's also about the different methods a unit can use to engage a specific target.
The jackson is flexible because its speed, turret, range, penetration and reload allow it to engage armor in a variety of ways and situations that something like a Jp4 or stug could not-despite both of them being decent units. |
Make e8 stock to give usf a more durable tank, with better at capabilities, and make m4a3 doctrinal. Nerf jackson rate of fire.
Now in Major tech you have tanks to fulfill every role. E8 is a durable jack of all trades with slight emphasis on AT performance, Scott is dedicated anti infantry indirect fire and jackson is dedicated to defeating heavy vehicles due to low rate of fire but high pen. |
Soviet players like myself WISH they had something as good as the M4a3e8 for 10 more fuel than the T-34/85. Non doc smoke, superior armor, superior penetration, AA capability, costless self repair, good on the move AT performance, and still 5 shot HP total though 80 less than the 85, with admittedly inferior AI performance all for a handful of mp and 10 fuel. |
No it does not always work like that but that has allot to do with G43 being power creeped...
You will them once Super heavies are delayed...And incendiary barrage is a mid power barrage, not a power off map and ppsh are power creeped by SVT and 7 men conscripts.
My main point is that one should not look for the best abilities for a commander but for abilities that their total power equals the average commander. Else one is replacing the meta commander instead of increasing the number of meta commanders.
You may want to be more clear with your wording then. You did not specify super heavies, only premium vehicles. You did not specify aircraft loiters, only "powerful" off maps which depending on if you factor in dropping it on retreat paths, the incendiary strike could be considered quite strong and flexible. |
I have written the exact same thing about G43 and Tiger.
IR St44 and Command Panther is separate issues because the upgrade is available only to "elite" infantry not main line and because CP is limited to 1.
The reason why weapon upgrades and Premium should not mix is simply, they provide an early game advantage over other commander and if that advantage can be capitalized with superior armor then the commander will be OP compared to other commander and dominate the meta.
I agree in theory but in practice this doesnt always bear out. Theres no question lightning war is a good commander but it isnt dictating ostheer meta.
We would expect to see conscript support tactics used more often as well since it offers ppsh, kv1 and incendiary barrage. However we do not. |
Given the buff to mid Accuracy and the higher DPS bonuses of the Penals things are not very simple.
This should be the DPS of a vet 3 PPsh Penal Squad:
Ranges 0/10/15/20/25/30/35
110.85/110.85/51.85/18.07/6.93/1.34/1.34
I would not call them OP at all ranges but they do have decent DPS even at range 25.
(They close accuracy is above 100%)
I think our definition of decent dps may be different. |
Clearly you have never seen PPSH troops at max range before Penals absolutely tickle grens. They can even wipe a squad at range 35 in 322 seconds on average. The PPSH is a close range weapon it should not be this strong, its OP at ALL ranges.
Disgusting. I guess relic is catering to putin. |
I disagree with a lot of the OPs points and the points I do somewhat agree with are built on faulty premises.
I think both P4s and the sherman are fine.
T-34 is adequate stat wise for cost, but the lack of a stock frontline tank for it to support means its relegated to frontline duty when it just wants to be on the flanks. Soviets usually offset this with a doctrinal pick.
I do find the cromwell underwhelming due to it's terrible MGs and jack of all trades status. It's ok for its price but it lacks a decent specialization. Maybe give the cromwell a sight increase so it can function as a pseudo spotter. That or an mg buff would be sufficient for the Cromwell imo.
The rest of the tanks are pretty cost efficient with exception of perhaps the t-34-85 which happens to be in a couple of good doctrines- guard motor coordination and armored assault. |
ppsh penals are bullshit OP...they have OP dps at all ranges
Sometimes it's hard for me to tell if you are being serious. |
