You're free to believe that team weapons are redundant, but you're wrong. Combined arms (especially as ost) is really really important. Sorry you can't just build only infantry and tanks and win the game easily without ever being countered.
I think the best nerf for TDs would be a firerate nerf. That would make them inherently worse against a giant spam of mediums while also making them still remain consistent against heavies.
How is that wrong ? the allied rocket arty has the fastest firing to impact time and just plain better indirect fire(pak howie 120mm mortar and scott) and the mg42 is the slowest mg to pack up, after the 20 min mark its a liability and your better off using a ostwind.
The fire rate nerf sounds good, another option would be to stop TD's from firing on the move, which would force players to support them and end the roaming jackson prides in teamgames. |
Alright I get it.
For a more realistic approach I propose we change the animation to the sweeper model laying on the hood with the sweeper in front of the half track. This way we get a visual cue there is something fishy.
I was thinking more of the sweeper being welded in place in front of the halftrack, for realism purposes. |
But it's the only AT they have*
* if you exclude the higher than average pen on the Sherman... Or the fact that every single infantry they field can carry a bazooka... Or the elite version on the elite infantry thats nearly as good as a shrek but much faster firing.... Or the various doctrinal AT vehicles... Or the fastest firing AT gun in the game that can also have the highest pen and the longest range.
Anways that's why the Jackson has to be the most mobile, incredibly accurate on the move, fast ass turret, long vision, full health but also self healing. Oh and the ability to increase pen as well as damage. Because there are no other options (that I want to use)
I see, so your saying the jackson needs a HE round toggle ? |
Aha, interesting. You see, back a while when scavenge doctrine got introduced, OKW could save up 700 munitions and instantly nuke an opponents base, therefore immediately winning the game. Do you think this was fair and balanced and not op, it was just ppls attitude?
Why are you quoting part of my post and taking it out of context to bring up a years old broken okw arty ability ? What do you hope to achieve |
There's this really cool thing called a pak.
C'mon man you know team weapons are pretty much redundant in anything larger than a 2v2 past the 20 min mark once indirect fire spam starts, even then using a 60 range crew weapon that can be de-manned and turned against you to deal with 60 range tds that can fire on the move is not going to work unless there's a significant skill gap between you and your opponent. |
Nothing is ever op, its just you is the prevailing attitude lately.
Seriously though it affects ostheer the worst since they cant return fire with 50 range tanks and in team games it degenerates into a wall of allied td's obliterating stugs and panthers before they can get into range or fire 1 shot and die reversing unless you pick the elefant doctrine which is boring game after gamw. |
Ah yes, halftrack clown cars that come at like 9 minutes. Truly the scourge of the meta right now.
That gave me a good laugh.
Something doesn't have to be meta to be unbalanced and there is no reason in "realism" or balance that a guy in the back of a half track should be detecting mines while it zooms around at 60mph firing bazookas and makes the game look like fortnight, may as well let pios sit on the back of tigers detecting mines. |
The only problem with this is the Tootsy strat in which he can put a double zook RE with a sweeper in a halftrack and then not hit Tellers or Schu mines. Although I think the problem stems from sweeper not taking up a weapon slot on RE's allowing them to upgrade 2x Zooks and still carry the sweeper. Although with Special Weapons seeing buffs next patch maybe the Brit M5 might see some usage in this manor as well with Royal Engineers being the same as Echelons.
Yeah I agree with you but I doubt anyone will take away the usf/uk pios ability to get both since its one of their "features" since release like nearly all american tanks/inf having 75% of their accuracy while moving compared to the standard 50% |
Units in open topped transports can use their weapons.
Sweeper is just another "weapon".
And they can't clear mines in vehicles, just detect them.
Also, you're complaining about something that can be stopped by a SINGLE faust.
yeah i meant detect ill change the title, if its classified as a weapon does that mean it cant be changed without affecting all weapons fired from half tracks ? |
Pretty self explanatory, it makes no sense even for a video game and causes balance issues when engineer units can equip sweepers as well as double at weaponry in half tracks that reach f1 Ferrari speeds with step on it.
*Meant to put detect not clear mines in title* |
