Back teck to T2 for ZiS.
Either get T34 after the T70 or after the ZiS depending on enemy.
This is like doing a T2-T3, but it grants early scout car harassment and also slightly earlier T3. But then tricky part is getting a ZiS out in time. |
Joint operations is a good commander, but mainly because it gives you lots of options. Its a more rounded commander in team games as a support commander, but in 1v1 your unlikely to build both the Pak43 and a howie, although it is useful if you want to have either as a potential option without taking up two commander slots. They are both situational units, so having them squeezed into one doctrine ''just in case'' allows your other two to be more common doctrines.
If you dont find yourself ever building the howie, your better off with Festug Support if you want a pak43 doctrine.

For 1v1 I think it's not great, unless it's matched with An SU85.
The fact you can't field many means it's poor speed goes against it and it struggles to flank something heavy like a tiger.
But in team games, where you can spam them, they seem good. That seems like HelpingHans fav soviet strat for team games |

I've not actually tried true T34/76 spam since it was buffed. Maybe it's a viable strat now, basically all depends if they can mob a tiger. Before it was all about ram lol. |
Ostruppen are actually pretty tanky in Green cover, they're good at holding territory so long as you don't use them to attack positions directly.
+1. This is why they are only good with long range weapons. Maybe they could get away with G43, but then they don't drop so u have no chance of moving the weapon to a gren, like with an LMG. |
I play mostly soviets, and I can tell you my munis rarely rise above 100-200, I wish they did. But cons, guards, mines are a large drain on their own, before even getting to better abilities like call ins.
All just depends how good you are at using the abilities at your disposal.
The only time I ever truly float muni, is with industry.
With LL, I never afford more than 1-2 fuel drops, and that's not much. Cache provides more. |
What range are the SVTs best at now, mid? I know it got changed but not sure to what.
I sometimes use an occasional penal, and the DPS is quite nice and can catch players off guard, same for the satchel. Also great for countering ass grens or PGs, esspecially with flamer. |
Yeah T3 aggression is nice, but Tiger is a big scary monster like you say.
Mechanised support is a bad ass doctrine to go T3, because you can aid T34 with Guards, cloaked ZiS and mark target to cap it off!! Then if you survive long enough to save up for an ISU (focus on ZiS rather than more than two T34s). |
3 shermans easily kill a tiger. 2 T34/85s with mark target deal with it fine.
Manoeuvrable armour is my favoured way to tackle a tiger. |
