The new sniper is great. He can really mess with their rifles and change their whole mindset.
Just have plenty of grens and maybe one MG for control. Always make sure to have grens handy and enough muni for fuasting the M20 (kinda like countering fast M8 in vcoh with volks).
If you try to rush 222, it can be risky due to less grens on the field.
Do you normally teck quite fast? Its far easier vs US to have a longer T1.
It transitions into Stug Es quite easily too, which just tip the balance fully in your favour. Back them with paks and he cant really counter with armour.
Hes only left with defensive play around 57mm's. But that lets you play for Tigers. |
The stuka smoke is pretty cool for only 40 munis... and it can serve as an even cheaper recon ability!
And the 250 with LMG grens in provides the best harrasment force Werh can lay their hands on. Really helps with map control on big maps. |
Well for quite a while 34/85s were trash, when they eventually made them a solid tank, didnt take long for stalling for 34/85s to become very common.
IS2 used to be insane AI, but not so great AT. So it wasnt so great vs Tigers
MG42s, FHTs and LMGs have all been OP for Ost making it harder to wait for IS2 and requiring a quicker T34 to stay in game maybe? |
If you want to go balls deep with a rush, consider Anti Infatry Doctrine, get a KV8 asap, when you push on their base, use the propaganda arty and then incendiary arty to help own their infantry defence. |
1v1
I focused only on Ost cause it's hard to play non-meta USF or OKW cause no matter which doctrine/tier you will go, it's always somekind of meta. As for Sov, I dont have "no-meta" commanders.
I know what you mean as regards to tecking, but there are plenty of underused units and fresh ways to play OKW.
You can call in spam P4s.
You can convert Fuel>muni and spam G43s fussies + off map arty barrage.
Spam Ostwinds backed by Rakketens
Hell I bet you could rush S Tiger in certain situations in 1v1
I've used Festung Armor in 1on1 vs USF quite a bit. Mobile defense if I want to tech up to tier4.
I wanted to try this out, but I kept thinking that Pumas and Command tank will delay Panthers quite heavily? Perhaps useable in 4v4.

Stay T1 as OKW, double kuble with double S pio, a couple of volks then JP4 backed by a couple rakketens, then straight into 9 CP P4 spam from Elite Armoured.
P4s need a lot of muni, so dont spend much other than a couple shreks.
Dont teck cos save fuel for P4s.
P4 will be main AI late game and flanking force while JP4 hits from range.
Get repair truck late game if you need it.
Field gun is an option too as you float quite a lot. |
Yeah if you counter it correctly, its ok. It just hard counters pure Allied inf spam, so if they dont adapt when it appears, they are doomed.
Rushing a medium out to kill it, might seem ok, but its risky, because they WILL have paks, and TWP can gimp you and if you lose that fast T34, or sherman, game over.
Much much safer to respond with ZiS or 57mm, which can totally force the Stug E back, and more often than not finish it off really quickly. |
Tanks aint a great counter to Stug E, usually because Werh will easily have paks backing it.
Its much better to counter with ATGs, which force the Stug right back. Lack of turret makes it extra weak Vs ATGS. |
The only time I like P4s is when using Elite troops, fuel cache buy two lots of vet for 2-3 P4s and eventually call the Ace if you need to.
Vetted P4s, backed by paks, MGs and grens can be pretty bloody decent. In fact you could practically ignore the Ace call in, and carry on calling in vetted P4s. Its Ost only equivelant to T34/85s.
I quite like P4s on tight maps like Stalingrad, they are better in close range, and can dodge AT guns and long range tanks easier, and the fact you will have more, sooner, gives better map control than if you were using standard Tigers. |
A dedicated Bren section could be interesting, anyway. Heaviest LMG bearing squad in the game with a fairly high unit cost and maybe some light suppression/cover use bonuses with vet. Maybe ~400mp or so.
ahh, dreams.
Yeah! I had a similar idea about fire support squads. Rather than the standard HMG and Mortar squads, you could have some kind of fire support squad.
Something like you said, maybe slow moving, maybe having a set up time. Maybe you have to activate when they start firing which has a timmer to represent ammo or something. Or even give them limited ammo, which must either be replenished by returning to HQ, or have a supply drop (doctrine), or some kind of supply vehicle. |
