And makes grenades king. |
Doctrinal arty is the worst counter to Elefant there is. All they need to do is have one guy recce the arty and then stuka bombing strike. Another example of poorly thought out doctrines. Doctrines should only have one WTFPWN weapon. In the elefant doc there are 2. A similar problem can be seen with the Elite troops doc. On their own in seperate docs vet troops and Tiger Aces might be balanced ish. Instead they are both together making the doc OP as hell. In these past few days I haven't played a single game where there hasn't been an elite troops doc. |
Interesting... I've been noticing a lot of elite troops doctrine lately in 2v2+. Pgrens just get sent to Vet2 immediately making them just walking death machines that just charge at your front lines, force everything to retreat and when you've grenaded or whatever the crap out of them they just retreat to do it all over again. It makes it a close game sure, but then you just get spammed by German armour and beaten.
I've found Shock troops just simply aren't good enough when it comes to late game and you need as Soviets everything in order to stop the panzers. Shock troops lack that utility (not complaining about that, it's fair enough, though... why do pgrens get those awesome shreks and also are the best German AI inf around...)
I would agree that guards and shocks come out too early though...

I've seen guards clump up together and be killed by a single rifle grenade... not impressed. |
Hmm... if the OH was truly crap then no German player's rank would change because of the fact that they would all be losing so they'd all remain in the same place because they'd be dropping all the time...
(flawed logic I know...)

From a historical perspective Soviet tanks should be less affected by mud because of their wide tracks whilst early German armour (StuG and Panzer IV, not Tiger or Panther) should be more heavily affected because of their thinner tracks. |
Nice but a rocket barrage does nothing to any vehicle larger than a StuG. The Tiger also isn't slow enough not to able to escape for an IL-2 bombing run or the like. |
I must say, I don't think I've lost a game since the patch. I'm a hardcore Soviet fanboy and I'm getting the feeling now that Soviets have a bit more of a chance to flex their muscles given the changes to starting MP and the like. I can't say though if balance has been fundamentally lost however, I'd like to think I'm a good player though. I've been playing mostly 2v2s without myself using Soviet Industry (don't even own it) and I have run into Tiger Aces.
I even predominantly used Penals with a good deal of success. I'm noticing that there are a lot more Soviet players as well... |
You mean, don't work like on any other tiger...? |
rant/ Why do Germans get bunkers and not Soviets? Germans are able to simply play leepfrog when Soviets are on the backfoot. Just had a game where ofcourse the guy spams Assgrens. Then he sets up bunkers on all the choke points and waits for me to come out and get pinned. It's just ridiculous. I don't have enough fuel for counters and stuff like penals just get mown down. I go T1 to get counters for Assgrens which leaves me open to the inevitable armour spam. It's just stupid.
