But the guy who said about Ostheer are true, some of Soviet stuff does not have true counter or their counter not doing their job well because of gimmicky COH2 design, then Relic trying to balance them making units ridiculous. The shock/G43, SU85/panzer problem is the best example.
Shocks being 3 CPs and double the cost a gren squad not enough? What about the Panther, where's its non-doctrinal equivalent or counter? What about the Ostwind? Where's its equivalent? What about Effective Soviet AT? The SU-85 is a crappy unit (gameplay wise) and shouldn't be where it is, but if it were nerfed even further then Soviets would be in serious trouble. Your arguments ignore Soviet problems and exaggerate German ones. The Germans have the best flanking units in the game (their panzers) as well as extremely effective non-doctrinal infantry AT with the same range as a tank and just as good accuracy. German Tanks across the board are superior, what on earth have you been playing?

Is this another aspect of assymetrical balancing? That German units are more easily destroyed by Soviet heavy guns.
At least the Soviets are able to do something better than the Germans, considering their brilliance in everything else, infantry vs infantry (ha), Infantry vs Tanks (ha), Tanks vs tanks (ha). |

A good opening to my mind would be to introduce custom army "themes" as DLC. This would be purely cosmetic and you could have say a Naval Infantry theme where all you Cons are in naval infantry uniforms, a Stalingrad street-fighters skin where everyone is armed (cosmetically wise) to the teeth or an early war late war thing where Soviet Infantry don't have Shoulder boards or something. Hell, even something as simple as giving Soviet infantry on winter maps great coats. Same would go for Germans, Gebirgjagers... Fallschirmjagers etc (maybe even make it so G43s are replaced cosmetically by FG42s and given the same stats etc). Don't really see too many limitting factors given the flavour and differences historically... |

Haven't played recently but I used to do a lot of 1v1s until I got sick and tired of raging at perceived (by me) imbalances in the game. Then I went over to 2v2s... less stress but probably more imbalance, you can't win. |
