Actually zis is now better than pak.Pen and reload difference are more or less insignificant.
Much more survivability due to 6 men,can smash bunkers and mgs from fog of war,and cause squadwipes against a blob as well.Zis outperforms pak right now quite well.
You clearly haven't faced a bunker in your life.
The direct fire from the ZiS and PaK is vastly superior to barraging a bunker.
As for the barrage, people seem to fixate on it, but its inaccurate and costs 60 munis, it's not a particularly good buy... |
Sometimes I wonder do people really think that German Army during WW2 produced different equipment for Eastern and Western front. Had different units and so on...
Not only were they same army but also huge number of Soldiers and equipment actually served on both Eastern and Western front.
OKW, OKH, army groups, sectors, divisions, etc.. are just command structures not different armies with different equipment and soldiers. (mostly)
I see where you're coming from but I feel it's fair enough that OKW has different units because otherwise it wouldn't really be much different to Ostheer.
That said, I'd totally be up for factions with variations to each other, Say you have the Soviets, you might have a shock army with PPSh cons and non-doctrinal shocks and IS-2s. or a Guards Army with T-34-85s and guards non-doctrinal (but with doctrines adding other stuff in, maybe making cons doctrinal cannon fodder say) |
Asking for changes to a faction is an utter waste of time I'm afraid.
The only analogy I can think of is praying to a god for something. Lots of huff and puff, but nothing happens.
Sorry, but getting Relic to change OKW is a waste of time. The fanboys are too invested in it to change and to change it anyway would just be admitting you made a badly designed faction.
It's a shame, I was playing OKW before and it was laughably OP... Coming out of Soviets or Yankees, OKW power in pretty much all stages of the game is just crazy. Usually trying out the opposing faction you usually see how you were wrong about certain things (this is the case with Ostheer). However with OKW, I wasn't wrong. Everything in that faction was incredibly strong, even the supposedly underpowered Panzer IVJ doctrine was extremely dangerous... |
Never seen it since about the day after the patch, been meaning to use it myself for a while... Will report back. |
Wait a minute. Everyone is friendly and agrees with eachother, 6 pages and it haven't devolved into a flame war. Even Relic replies with positively to it.
Where is Coh2.org and what have you done to it?
It's the damn white pixel bug I tell you! |
Why cant the Allies get a arty calling like this?
Especially given the Soviet reputation for absolutely fearsome artillery... |
I heard it was bugged but used it anyway a few days ago... Literally flattened the whole right side of Lienne forest... whoopsies... Seemed to work fine for me. |
Edit: Marco, as to why, well, ain't that obvious? I might as well ask as to why ie. only one faction (Soviets) has useful snipers, why only the Allied factions have useful artillery, why only OKW can truck push, why only Sovs/USF can pull light vehicle timing pushes, why only one faction (OH) has no elite infantry, etc.. These factors are weighed against each other, the factions operate fundamentally differently, and that makes balancing obviously delicate.
Some of the things you've just asserted are hilariously untrue though.
Ostheer has no elite infantry? What about Pgrens?
only Sovs/USF can pull light vehicle timing pushes? What about the Kubel? Or more seriously, Puma or Flakhalftrack.
Only one side has useful artillery? What about the Stuka zu Fuss?
Indeed, half of what you've said there is at the root of many faction's balance issues (OKW truck pushing, Why do we need it? It's the height of unrealistic stupidity) |
Probably because production of the ZiS-3 Field Gun was 10x higher than production of the ZiS 2, with 100k guns made compared to 10k guns made. And the game isn't realistic anyway, like the Panzer IV Ausf. G / J having roughly equal penetration to the T-34/76 and M4A3, or with identical weapons having very different stats, etc. A good example is the Pak 43, which is used in an Emplacement, on the Elefant, and on the Tiger II, yet is completely different on each unit.
Yes... just like the Ostwind being non-doctrinal and the T-34-85 and IS-2 being doctrinal... yeah... totally...
At least with the Elefant and PaK43, my impression has been they both do roughly the same damage (or at least wipe off half my tanks health equally effectively... |
my personal recommendation to those players, if they want to go into T-34-85s is to get both T1 and T2 (which is a pretty strong build). It won't hurt your teching to T-34s and it makes you extremely strong, with both Snipers, AT guns and the like at your disposal, you can hold up most threats with those 2 buildings... |
