collector

A person who makes a collection, as of stamps (or commanders perhaps?).
english is not my main languge but god dam words have a meaning!! if they have had CALLED IT TOW EDITION i would not have bought it and i would not be complaning.
acording to relic i am the collector of an incomplete colection because i paied for the COLLECTOR EDITION the colecturmoney edition.
reposting from pay to whine
yes those are the definitions of the words collector and collection. that doesnt change the fact that people misinterpreted what they bought. i guess maybe relic could have been clearer, but i read what the CE included and never expected free DLC forever. it came with skins, a faceplate, and 6 more commanders than the preorder. i knew that and chose not to buy it.
the term "collectors edition" is used very frequently for video games. it should never be interpreted as "all DLC is free forever" unless it explicitly says so. it typically gives some in game bonuses and silly things like an art book, a soundtrack, or other physical items.

notice how none of these promise free dlc forever, despite the use of the word "collector"
CoH2-PreOrder FAQ
this might cause some confusion because it looks like it was posted when relic was still under THQ. for example, the tiered pre order bonuses no longer existed once sega took over |
I paid for a game, that isn't even the game it's made out to be. All I get are mundane commanders, with units that don't help me play the game as it's meant to be played, or how I want to play it. That's totally a shit thing to do.
At the very least - at the very least, give us in-game currency to unlock this shit. Turn it into a F2P game, which isn't F2P, where you earn super sweet and shiny Nazi-Gold to buy WW2-Points to buy sweet new commanders - whatever. Just don't do it this way.
you could have played the beta for free for a long time before ever paying a cent. i had over 150 hours of time in the beta without buying the game. if people took the time, they were able to know exactly what game they were buying. its unfortunate that the game isnt "how you want to play it" but you couldve figured that out before launch.
do you really think going f2p would make people happy? people are freaking out over not getting enough free content for CE and paying $3 for a new commander. how do you think people will respond if they paid $100 for a game that goes f2p?
I paid top dollar for Collectors Edition to get a 'command pass' that would mean I didn't have to do any of the micro transactions.
you misinterpreted what the CE got you then, because they never said you get free commanders forever. they specifically said you get 10 |
sorry i dont have time to watch your replay and see what happened. thought i would just let you guys know, there is no seperate stat for forward or backward speed. all tanks move equally fast in either direction. if youre outrunning panthers it sounds like it was a bug though. panthers have 5.5 max speed and su85s have 4.8 |
Actually (at least this was the case in beta, I'm not a keeper of stats) the exp gain was much more on damage received than on damage dealt.
infernalis is correct, its now a .75/.25 xp ratio for dealt/recieved. it used to be .50/.50 so taking damage never gave more xp than dealing. |
well like you guys have all been saying, they have different advantages, so its really a matter of preference.
if you want to vet as quickly as possible, 10% vet will be the best choice. the best bulletin for increasing dps is 3% accuracy for both grens and cons because it leads to a direct increase in dps by 3%. the next best is 5% cooldown, then 2% cooldown 2% reload, and last 3% reload.
if youre curious what the actual numbers are, you can find them here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ApmrrrPr20ncdEpuSHcxNko1VGVFYjczYXpFZWhqOHc#gid=15
the number above the bold DPS number is the % change compared to the base weapon with no bulletins. ill leave this up for a while, but ill probably delete this tab eventually. |
This is the first game I've heard/played where the devs clearly decided to segregate ppl who have payed $60 and ppl who got the DCE with things that severely affect gameplay in game.
shogun 2 had factions that were paid. this isnt the first game to do this and it wont be the last |
Let's put it this way, options that can have a significant impact which are not available to everyone who buys the game but only a select few who decides to pay more is Pay2Win.
Either that, or it's not viable and hence, fail balancing.
theres already paid commanders that gave players new options. look at armored assault. it gets il2, is2, t34/85, crew repair and radio intercept. thats 5 amazing abilities in 1 commander. not every player gets that commander and it allows strategies no other commander can do. so is that pay to win as well even though they arent new abilities? i havent seen any complaints about it so im guessing the answer is no. things can be viable and offer new strategies without being op and pay to win. |
everyone asked for commanders to be more unique and not just recycle old abilities. relic listened and now people complain...
personally, im glad theyre introducing new units and abilities as the others were getting stale. its going to allow more strategies. for example, skipping t1 as german is now more viable without having to rely on pios alone. |
Tank accuracy is determined by the size of its target (an attribute of mostly vehicles) and its accuracy:
size*accuracy = chance to hit
Infantry have a small (or no?) target size, meaning only "missed" (scatter) shots hit them (see scatter and AoE mechanics). So the current 0.5 modifier does have a negligible effect vs. infantry.
Missing slightly more when you already miss nearly all of the time doesn't change much.
As for the scatter modifier it maybe would be interesting to test but it'd probably mess up things too much. Maybe on some vehicles that have scatter values much lower than comparable vehicles, e.g. the T-34. But I guess it doesn't really matter, could mess up the balancing too much and if a unit were to be nerfed, other means (e.g. AoE reduction to reduce AI damage) are probably more reliable tools.
infantry have a target size of 1 so tanks have between a 2.5 and 5% chance for direct hits on infantry. that obviously means 95 to 97.5% of shots are misses, even for great AI tanks like t70 and ostwind. the only reason they do damage is because of their scatter and AOE.
the point of the scatter modifier isnt to reduce the AI ability all the time. AOE reduction would mean they are just flat out worse against inf. a movement penalty to AOE would also make no sense (different shell just because theyre moving?) so scatter is the logical stat to change. |
However, this all doesn't make sense to me. Let me clarify:
If the sniper moves, he cannot fire. If he moves, he also receives a 0.5 accuracy modifier. Because he misses while the halftrack is moving, he obviously receives an accuracy modifier. However, if that accuracy modifier were from the movement section of the sniper's weapon stats, it'd mean he'd be registered as moving and thus shouldn't be able to fire.
Therefore, the accuracy reduction must come from somewhere else, not from the movement section of the sniper's weapon stats.
Or am I missing something here? Does someone know where the modifiers might come from if not from the sniper's weapon stats movement section?
I'm really not interested in the quarreling nonsense in this thread, I'm just trying to get more insight into the game stats.
yea i agree with you, i think endeav is pulling the wrong stats i think there is probably a modifier in the m3 stats that explains this instead.
On topic; do you feel moving vehicles should also receive a scatter penalty? This would penalize them more equally against infantry and vehicles. Adding a scatter penalty ontop of the accuracy penalty would bring the relationship closer to vCOH levels for reference.
maybe some tanks should have a scatter modifier, but most are already so weak against infantry. maybe t70 and ostwind should scatter a bit more when moving? currently, both of them kite extremely well. |
