But also is true that purchased vet2 Panthers are really hard to beat for a soviet T3 player.

Soviet Industry is still OP, but against a Elite Troop player you should try another commander.

i can see elite being hard for industry to deal with in a 1v1, but in team games its amazing. you can have a t34 shortly after the vetted pgrens start showing up. if your micro is good, even schrecks are easy to solo just by crushing them. vetting tanks just makes them more expensive paper weights when you ram with your swarm of t34s. same goes for the tiger ace. ive had many games where i easily built 25+ t34s. theres no way for the german tanks to handle that many. their only hope at that point is a pak43 or a lot of pak40s and a map with lots of choke points.

ive even won a game on pripyat where the germans had tiger ace and 2 elefants... kv2s shouldnt be underestimated.

You have hudge penalty on manpower (-80MP) and nerfed medium tanks T-34 (T-70). Why use it? In current patch you need Shock Troops for killing free vet Gren and PzG. Vet 2 Panther kill all T-34/76 what you can have from SI. Now 2-3 Su-85 (plus ZiS) are enough for AT defend.

its only -65mp and all tanks got nerfed (yes, even german tanks). if youre losing all your t34s to a single panther, youre doing it wrong.

as for the original question, industry is still really strong when used properly. like elite troops, it didnt really get much of a nerf last patch. the only direct change was build times for buildings is no longer decreased. that has no effect on the timing of the first tank though, just the t1/t2 start. indirectly its a bit worse because of the new scatter changes, though with proper micro you can mitigate that. if you get a feel for the timing of tank reloads, you can stop them just before they shoot so they dont have a moving penalty. when you only have a few t34s, you can easily kite grens using thing and avoid the faust. once you get enough tanks it gets harder to micro, but you can just overwhelm the germans at that point.

it may not be great in 1v1, but it still really shines in team games where you can rely on teammates to make up for your lack of infantry

I would like to see Vet2 PGrens vs Vet0 Shocks. I'm willing to guess that the PGrens will win easily, which is pretty stupidly OP.

You can vet the PGrens to Vet2 for a stupidly small amount of fuel, and yet their reinforcement costs stay the same. This means PGrens become far far more cost effective than Shocks over the course of a few engagements.

It just goes to show how ridiculously OP purchasable vet is for the elite troops doctrine.

shocks come out sooner than pgs, especially vet pgs. vetting a pg also makes it cost more than a shock squad, not to mention the fact you have to tech. also, shocks reinforce cost is cheaper than pgs and each entity is more durable...

Not sure if you're aware, but 3 PGs actually walk over maxim frontally as a blob, no micro needed.

i think we all know what you guys would say if a german complained that 1 mg42 couldnt stop 3 cons...

hilarious replay by the way. blobs everywhere on both sides. i especially liked it when the kv8 tries to attack a pak and 2 p4s.

Do shots even calculate as hit/miss anymore? I remember hearing they all "miss" but the spread is so tight that they have a high chance to hit.

yes? i think youre getting confused with tank vs infantry accuracy.

chance for a hit= accuracy * target size

infantry target size is 1, and tanks have accuracy between 2.5-5% depending on range. so roughly 95% of tank shots miss infantry, but thats when scatter is calculated.

vehicles target size is 18-26 depending on the unit. shooting at a tank with target size 20, a tank would have a 100% chance to hit it at close range (5% * 20) or 50% at max range (2.5% * 20). any misses would have scatter just like against infantry.
