Just putting it out there, it costs 80 muni and basically offers and I win button for any vehicles, especially when combined with a conscript nade... and this is on the back ground of ost 80 muni cost of a recon plane a role while mark target also incidentally provides. Either make recon plane for ost cost 40 muni or double the cost of mark target so It cant just be spammed all the time. Man a upgun for scout car is 60 muni and its usless, cant have a 80 muni kill all vehicle button. |
I saw some replays of Imperial Dane. I have to say there was some nice T-34 usage. The cool thing was that this resulted in a lot of German players actually using StuGs effectively.
But then all the games I play end up in Sniperspam combined with Su-85s. Why would anybody ignore an I-win-button?
Still the T-34 needs to be a bit more attractive and the Su-85 needs its goddamn nerf. I lost 2 Panthers (1 with vet1)to two Su-85s. There was no option than a frontal assault and I speeded one up getting behind one Su-85. The time they arrived one Panther was almost down and exploded within 2 seconds. The second one got killed 10 seconds later. No Su-85 was lost... time to ragequit.
I have to say, in many situations su85 is uncounterable IMO. Especially with how the maps are laid out. |
Has anyone seen the latest casts from Rogers and pounder as well as Imperial Dane? In Imperials game there was no su85 featured and it played like coh of old and in the RNP it was super clear su85 is blatantly op.
Anyone see this? Thoughts? |
I think you bring up some very excellent points, and I think it would be in Relic's best interest to at least acknowledge this thread, if not implement these changes asap.
Thanks man not sure if they have the time and money to pay attention to the hardcore few.. but i have my fingers crossed |
I agree with most of the point being made by the OP. I sort of feel that this game fails in areas where Relic really nailed it in vCOH. The way flanking has been toned down is an obvious shortcoming, and makes for a more "spammable" kind of game, as you need to use certain units to hard counter, rather than use smart manuevering to flank and finnish an MG og Mortar. I really dont think 6 man squads for supportweapons ever were a good idea.
Overall, I think the graphics are good, but I do agree that many of the effects dosent feel as real, and a skirmish between two tanks are nowhere near as impressive as it used to be in vCOH.
I fear that many op the issues adressed by OP are designer decition, either simplified because of lack of time, or to move the game in a certain direction, and I dont see them fixing a lot of them. I do sincerely hope im wrong.
dly I think you are right and based off the circumstances relic had to work under its no real surprise.. we are lucky the game came out and they come onto the forums at all. But I do wish they addressed the issues some how |
I can explain you the commanddelay. Its a fault by Relics Essence Engine.
In Dawn of War 2 it was the same Commanddelay and you have to play Multiplayer by Peer 2 Peer.
Relics Essence Engine is bad written in sort of the networkcode.
Every game, which use the Relic Essence Engine 2.0 or higher, will have P2P and commanddelay.
So, every game with the Relic Essence Engine 2.0 or higher, is not able for competition or E-Sports, beacause Command delay.
you are right bro.. its very much based off DOW2.. that games was fun but seemed off to me. |
The proposed visual effects can always be better but i must say its great as it is now... btw imo relic shouldnt fix what aint broken but fokus more on overall game and the problem that are at hand , and fokus on them primarly
Also agreed with Ginnungagap
thats it
I dont agree but I respect what you are saying we all have diff opinions |
The battlefield for tanks can be more dangerous yes. Infantry against tanks, no. The Ostwind isn't a tank and I'm excluding crush and the t70
It felt to me like tanks in cCOH were made of steel and a lot of stuff bounced - in coh2 the feeling is like they are just a unit that can take damage. I dont know how to explain it properly |
I think your problem lies in the fact that the bigger tanks (panther, tiger,
Elefant, even this new neutered panzerV - I'd say stug but who the hell uses a stug?) pose virtually no threat to infantry rushes. A sticky in vcoh would dmg a tiger's engine...but you'd probably lose that entire rifle squad in the process.
Thats a great point man - the battlefield here is much more dangerous so basically you have to retreat your tank as soon as engine damage ( due to even 1 su 85 which is always going to be on the field) and it takes ages to damage inf so there's no retribution, and even if there is the new MP system means soviet army can easily swallow the losses that the US would be crippled by in the old game.
The problem with that is stickies did minimal damage and only had a chance of crits. Now its insta crit - it should go back to min damage with chance. Cos a squad of conscripts can cripple 3 super heavy tanks in 1min 30 seconds making them useless for a long time. |
I mean I don't "like" the way AT Nades work but it is fair IF (<----) the Faust worked as intended. I like fair. Right now it isn't fair.
Things can be fair without being a mirror image - its not fair cos the unit throwing them has 6 units not 4... so how is that fair? Try faust a big tank with gren and u can go to half or less than half of your unit in 1 shot. Never happens with scripts and they are cheaper to reinforce..
Just saying, I do know what you mean and I sort of agree but things need some re thinking. |
