...so, has anyone found a good way to work the IS-2 into their game? I haven't had a chance to use one (like, ever, actually. Maybe once in the beta)
I use it often now. It depends on the situation, but if the German player is not spamming t2 vehicles you can safely wait to get it. I basically rely on 4 cons, 1 shock, 1 AT, 1 morter or maxim before getting the required points to call it in. If they have t3 tanks it will do an awesome job fighting them off, especially against panzer 4. |
What was uncalled for, was claiming that my not having used the unit has any bearing on its actual performance vs Fausts.
No matter if Ive fielded IS2s 1 million times, or 0 times, the Fausts deflection chance is no different.
Whether you simply didnt see them, exaggerated them, or witnessed an astronomical fluke, the probability remains at 0.2-0.0003% probability for 10-15 sequential penetrations.
Actually that is very "called for" because as your comments indicate, you don't use the unit. Reading stats of some source is not the same.
As for why your comment is "uncalled for", its because no body brought up that issue except you, and you did so to ARGUE. |

A) You didn't look.
B) You are exaggerating.
C) By some astronomical chance, you actually experienced 10-15 sequential Faust penetrations, at a probability of 0.2%-0.0003%.
Up to you, which one it is.
D) You need to start using this unit before commenting |

You tried to "claim" Faust can never never deflect on IS2 frontal.
That was a categorically false statement.
False, I did not claim that, I said that "I noticed":
Speaking of panzerfaust, I noticed it always causes engine damage to the IS2, even when fired at the front armor. Panzerfaust has 140 penetration and the IS2 has 325 front armor, therefore shouldn't the panzerfaust fail to penetrate at least half the time if not more?
In fact my comments clearly show that I expect panzerfaust to deflect on IS2, but never seen it do that and that's where I was asking for comments from people who used this unit. |
you must have horrible luck then because the chances of that happening 10 times is .02%. 15 times in a row has a .0003% chance. there is obviously a much greater chance that you just arent noticing the failed fausts.
Could be, and that is why I was hopping to get feedback from people who use this unit to see if they face the same issue.
Two things to note though, unlike the AT grande the panzerfaust is very noticeable because it makes a loud sound and leaves a trail of smoke so its not easy to miss it. The other thing I noticed is that am not able to move the IS2 around the battlefield as freely as I do with the tiger because I get engine damage more easily with the IS2. |
IS2 can deflect pfausts from the front. It's easy to miss since it just shows up as damage. But you give the armour and penetration values which clearly shows it should fail plenty (if these values are right)
It should deflect, and I am pretty sure the figures are correct. That's why I find it surprising how often the panzerfaust penetrates the IS2 front armor.
