So maybe they will make it so the t34 can gain an advantage from getting to the sides and rear, but right now the damage of the t34 and panzer 4 are so different that it doesn't matter where the t34 is, it's going to lose. Thread: Penal Battalions12 Aug 2013, 04:38 AM Here is a replay I can't attest to my opponents skill, but it worked nonetheless. It wasn't the best display and he rage quits pretty early. I was just trying to show you that building a penal squad as your first unit can be a good strategy, but I agree with you that there really isn't a reason to build multiple and as the game progresses they become less useful due to their low armor. Building them as my first unit is the only time I've gotten any significant use out of them since it allows them to accumulate veterancy for late game and they have a edge on the grenadiers. You are living on borrowed time once ACs hit the field and drive you back off. ostheer should logically have a muni/fuel/tech advantage at this point I usually use it with the guards motor commander as well. Get some guards out as soon as possible to deal with any T2 vehicles and then get out the SU-85 pretty quickly to deal with the T3 stuff. If all goes well you can stay a bit ahead of your opponent. It might not be the best strategy, but since its rather irregular it can surprise the german player and take out Mg squads entirely with both Penals and a flame car out early. In: COH2 Gameplay

T1>Penal>conscript>M3>flame engineer>conscript With this the m3 and the conscript arrive on the field at the same time and all together make up a pretty good strike force that blows through the troops that the german most likely extended due to you not being so quick to the field. I believe in one of the shoutcasts, they interviewed a developer and they did say there would be some changes to ram when they change the t34. I really hope that it isn't just a stat change. Seeing the T34/85 builable would make me a very happy man. In: COH2 Balance

If yes on wich art of extension can we count / hope and whats the idea from those dlc? Can we maybe get some hints about that? :-) I believe the devolopers have implied that they would have new factions eventually, but the first thing they are working on are new ToW campaigns. So i wouldn't expect a expansion for about a year or so. In: COH2 Gameplay

Its not like both will be facing the panzer 4's front armor. At least one will be hitting his rear and if that does not work ... RAM. So 2X T34's vs 1 PZ4 = without any doubt is a win for T34. Yes I agree that T34 needs a slight buff AT wise but it has to be balanced because of Ram. Anti infantry power of T34 is much better than PZ4 post patch. PZ4 now hardly makes a dent not to mention T34 faces 4 man squads vs 6 for PZ4 in addition to T34 having much better scatter resulting in superior anti infantry. That's the way it should be but the truth is a PZ4 does double the damage and will always penetrate. It will finish off 1 t34 at about half health and then turn to face the other and the t34 wont be able to get through the front armor and will die too. It has happened to me. Not to mention a flanking manuever is hard to pull off and will most likely put the t34 into a bad situation, which will atleast end with a faust into the flanking t34. In: COH2 Balance

The soviets need fuel just as much as the germans, maybe more since their tanks are weaker, easily destroyed, and only effective in numbers. In: COH2 Balance
