You need to chill out and take things far less seriously than you do.
Greg Wilson made a very cool video which demonstrated the fictious way war spoils are delivered. Noun ate a super hot pepper to promote the game in a fun way. Seriously did you not laugh watching him try to promote a game while choking? I found it hilarious (sorry Noun).
I agree that communication is very inconsistent and the only videos so far have been cool in nature and not informative. I'd love to see an indepth interview on War Spoils, what they are planning to do and how the system was original designed and envisioned... that would be great.
But seriously, a rant post like this is unwarranted. |
I believe this is the most well thought out balance post to date. Almost everything suggested would overhaul a lot of the perceived problems and make the game far more enjoyable to play as both sides. |
Which is another issue we haven't address in this thread. I agree that, at the moment, wipe potential is sky high and its ridiculous.
I feel the best thing for grenadiers is to nerf their LMG DPS and improve their survivability with vet.
Warthrone, definitely play some soviets and come back and tell us its still OP. I think you will be surprised. |
Again, The_Courier has pointed out the weaknesses of your argument Warthrone. If you are complaining that LMG42 Grenadiers are rubbish vs Rifles, then I think you really need to go away and play some more - I feel that they are the most powerful, robust infantry in the game at the moment and don't need a doctrine to be relevant through the whole game, like conscripts do.
Relic themselves have stated that Long Range combat, such as the LMG42 is too powerful and having a detrimental effect on close range units, and want feedback.
This is a fact you cannot dodge around. Ostheer are not the cripples you make them out to be. They're a good race with lots of redundant or useless units. Even Panzer Grenadiers have their place, with 2xPzShreks.
RE: Endgame armour, When you see the loading screen, then the first infantry call in, you know what to expect from the Soviets. Very few races have such a glaring weakness or doctrine dependency.
I actually really like OKW's design, but I agree Relic has gone buff crazy with them.I don't think the US can take many more nerfs without being a useless 2v2 team. |
Sorry Warthrone, but Kothre hit the nail on the head here. Everything you've proposed would effectively render the soviets obsolete. Even Ostheer can compete very well with a Tiger doctrine and LMG42 grens. Soviets have nothing by comparison, and everything you've listed as "OP" is just the soviets end of doctrine armour.
The fact you want to nerf the two backbone infantry of the soviets (shocks/guards) makes me question the rest of your post. I really think you should play some games with soviets and see if they are as overpowered as you think. |
IS-2 arrives far too late and is too expensive. If he backs it with a pak, it will handle the armour just fine.
Running PPSh squads in is still suicide - the amount of A move is frustrating. Snipers will also get walked over - they dont have time to take shots.
I've had some mixed success with maxims, but its still very frustrating.
It does seem like US has many more tools to counter, so I guess thats a plus. |
So I played a handful of games yesterday, and I constantly faced a huge blob of grenadiers with this, and various other units thrown in.
I'm fine dealing with sturmpioneers and volks, but for some reason I just can't hack the power of this blob. The few games I won were against poor players using incendiary artillery and a KV-8 to chase him back to his base.
What are your strategies for countering these guys? I normally play 2v2 with a US ally, so any suggestions from that side are also welcome... |
The SU-76 should work exactly as the M8 howitzer carriage does now. Would be a good start. |
Oh please RiflesReady. As if they put effort in. Who sends their infantry blobs against ISU-152's? They deserved that loss.
The second they saw an ISU they should of gotten Panthers out - good range, and mobility. Sib left his flanks completely open. They didn't even get AT guns. They did some great ninja capping sure, but watching him throw Fallschrimjager after volk after Fallschrimjager into the tigers teeth, you can't complain.
You cannot 1v1, head on, a ISU. It's suicide. You have to flank it, just like you used to do with the elefant.
I agree that the ISU's infantry slaughter capabilities need to be toned down, but its dangerously close to being an overpriced paperweight. It already turns slower than my Grandma.
I think I cried with mirth when Sib got three out. He was begging for some flanking, and they nearly gave it to him as well.
Even better is you trying to call Sib cheap. It was his doctrines top tier tank. What do you expect him to do, spam SU-85's? Because its well proven by now that they are completely outclassed by the Jagdpanzer. |
I look forward to hearing what he says, but it doesn't change the fact it's still one of the weakest commanders. It is truly awful compared to the Airbourne commander and has no reliable muni-sink. Even rifles scout better than I&R pathfinders (because they can take some hits) |
