GreenDevil, it happens a shitload of times to me that I don't penetrate Panzer IVs, what drugs are you on? And how are fausts worse, when they penetrate T34s every single time, yet flanking is more important for said T34s? I've said it before, and I'm going to say it again. DON'T TALK BALANCE WHEN YOU DON'T PLAY BOTH FACTIONS EQUALLY OFTEN. |
actually, let' do a math here:
Tiger health: 1280
Alpha: 160
Reload 5.0
Frontal Armor 300
Chance of Penetrating JS-2:154/325=0.474
Shoots(which penetrated) needed to finish off a JS-2: 960/160=6
Shoots needed in total to finish off a JS-2: 6/12.65~=~13
Average time for a Tiger to finish off a JS-2: 13*5.0=65sec
Cost:720 MP and 200 FU
--------------------------------------------------------------------
JS-2 health:960
Damage Alpha: 240
Reload: 9.0
Frontal Armor:325
Chance of Penetrating Tiger: 170/325=0.523
Shoots(which penetrated) needed to finish off a tiger 1280/240=5.3 ~=~ 6
Shoots needed in total to finish ooff a Tiger: 5.3/0.523=10.13~=~11
Average time for JS-2 to finish off a Tiger:11*9=99SEC
COST: 760 MP and 240 FU
SUM:
Tiger needs 65 sec to finish off a JS-2 while JS-2 took 99 sec to finish off a Tiger
Tiger costs 40MP/40FU less than a Tiger,a nerf to Tiger?
PanzerJager, your name clearly shows which faction you play only
An IS-2 isn't meant to counter a Tiger though (or at least that's how I understood it). An IS-2 is far better at killing infantry, and a little worse at killing tanks. Seems fair to me, I might actually build the IS-2 sometime now. |
Just get a Panzer IV. How hard can it be to play Germans right now? I've got a ~10 win streak with them since last patch, half of which games I played drunk. |
soviet zis 3 has the super amazing arty barrage not to mention 6 man squads which makes it actually way superior to the useless PaK40.
The thing is, I want an AT gun. Not arti. If I wanted to barrage infantry I'd get a mortar, not that AT gun. If I want to attack tanks, I wouldn't get the Soviet AT gun either. It's rate of fire is way too low, and it doesn't penetrate too often either.
I'd love it if AT-guns were similar to CoH1: Deal a shit ton of damage, but they need support and can't hunt down tanks like vehicles would. Now they're only the latter two. |
Tbh it's not that hard to get your units away from the satchel charge at all. Provided that you play on a summer map.
In deep snow or a blizzard it's fricking impossible, it even happened that I lose some penal models while retreating because they are so damn slow in the deep snow.
@Peruci: I'm starting to become a fan aswell, in 1v1 I get 2 conscripts, scout car, penal + flamethrower, then get AT nades. After that guards/snipers/medics -> T4.
Always keep a conscript near the scout car to counter German scout cars. Use the scout car to counter MGs. Because of the penal in the scout car I rarely need molotovs anymore, which is great because I suddenly have a lot of extra munis to spend on mines and AT nades to counter the early scout car/halftrack. |
Which is?
I can't see why both sides wouldn't benefit - not from a game balance point of view, but for adding options and thus more playability.
Well for one the Germans could build tank traps, and then get some MG42s behind them to quite easily make something that's very hard to break through. The Russians can't do that. Second, Germans have heavy tanks that can crush tank traps (or least they could in vCoH) that they can build without having to choose a specific doctrine. The Russians only have the ISU-152 and the IS-2, which you need to choose a specific doctrine for. |
Flanking for one. In the case of Elefants, try to somehow damage it's engine or block it, and then throw a bombing strike at it. Of course you do need the right doctrine for it. If you see ISUs in 1vs1 you have been playing bad tbh. Just punish them in the early-mid game for not having guards. |
The game is not just about T34s and PIVs. A T34 might have trouble penetrating the PIV but clearly the T34s role never was to destroy PIVs, you have SU85s for that. I do agree that the vet 1 of Russian tanks is completely useless though. |
Getting a HT is often not an option at all, since you're going to NEED T4, and spending over 100 fuel just to counter an ability is ridicilous. |
Buildings are not durable at all. Even the church of Semois can go down with two rifle nades. I don't often see a building that's still there after 4 nades.
Imo the problem isn't the durability of the buildings, but rather the absurd amount of cover it provides for infantry compared to CoH1.
I don't think snipers should be much more powerful against units in buildings btw. That role should be for flamethrowers/mortars/explosives. But it should be easier in general to get units out of a building. |
