I think the game still has a lot of potential to be good and Relic have been in this position before with a lot of players dropping out/not playing the game in vcoh. It was their continued support of vCoH that kept people coming back and playing and new people buying the game and they are more than capable of recognizing their mistakes with CoH2 and making changes accordingly.

From a players point of view though, you don't have to get angry about coh2 if you don't like it currently, just leave and play something else there are plenty more fun games out there to play and a lot of good ones are free on steam too. You don't have to endure CoH2 now if you think it's not fun, simply don't buy the micro transactions online and if the game is still not fun when the expansion comes around don't buy it.

Great idea - just pay your premium $60 - $100 - and let the game "settle" till they work out the issues - a year - or 2 - and then come back......

Maybe in that year or 2 you can fish COH2 out of a bargain bin for $5 on a Humble Bundle sale by then.

If you can't understand right there why people here are angry - be it from the fact they feel unhappy financially or were true fans of the game to see it become what it has...yeah, thats not good.

Its just really sad that COH ended like this.

All very true, but let's be realistic for a moment: all these commanders are not going to be removed again. Presumably even more will be arriving.

So what on earth could anyone from the player community actually do to reverse the situation? It's like the indians trying to stop settlers from Europe.

I can't see it making a difference if we post our concern here, on the official forum or on the kitchen suppliers' forum.

Quite simple really - you just uninstall and play something else.

You don't continue the cycle that they're pushing - i.e. the DLC cash cow - and you also - dare I say it - get onto playing a game you DO enjoy.

In the end for me COH2 was borderline dull and I often found myself playing simply because I bought it and was trying to salvage some of my $ by playing it - much like when you buy a big pack of new flavored potato chips at the store that you thought looked cool - however the flavor was like dull cardboard - you can either throw it out - or try and eat a bit here and there, hoping maybe that it'd become as tasty as you hoped. Yet after a game or 2 you remembered why its been a week since you played it - and you went on your way till the next week came by and you thought "you know, maybe this time it'll be better".

There's just so many better titles coming out that I actually ENJOY playing that uninstalling COH2 now is just a distant thought.

The sad victim here is COH1 in its unplayable state and the sooner COH2 isn't a financially viable product I'm pretty sure magically we'll see COH1 fixed.

Definitely makes you think that if we didn't have a broken COH1 as it stands currently if there would be as much animosity towards COH2?

Then again - COH2 looks to be all about having choices taken away from you...

Anybody else find it funny that with each "new" DLC commander they're reintroducing elements of COH1? The first round we saw the reintroduction of FHQ's, trenches and half tracks - now the second round we see Tank Traps and repair bunkers...I wonder which DLC will give us back Custom Lobbies and lag free play...

NOUN:

1 - Since the Steam integration the said offensive people could be easily banned and have their account suspended.

2 - Steam Account integration also means no Smurfing etc. such that the Smurf noob stompers etc don't/can't exist anymore (this looks to be the crux of your reasoning behind no custom public game lobbies) - the obviously good players will then be able to play against equally good players and vice versa.

I'd be happy with no chat lobbies to be perfectly honest - its the custom game lobby's that are killing the game in their current form.

If liability is the reason you're not introducing lobbies - then there are you answers.

I still have yet to hear a valid reason as to why we don't have custom game lobbies though other than the perceived "team stack" argument - which doesn't cut it.

I still can't see why there is such staunch resistance here to put the lobbies back in.

We have still not heard ONE legitimate reason for this.

It can't be due to cost or ability - especially given COH2 multiplayer is exactly the same P2P that COH1 used - it wouldn't take an army of programmers to simply drop it in.

All I can see here is that its fear of the majority of players "leaving" a forced game model - and in all honesty - why is that a "bad" thing?

These players will still buy your game - actually there will be more buying it as MANY have decided to steer clear of COH2 till it got lobbies etc.

These players will buy your DLC.

These players will PLAY YOUR GAME.

AND - wait for it - Players WILL STILL PLAY THE GAME IN AUTOMATCH AS THEY'RE FORCED TO TODAY TOO.

Everybody wins - the community gets bigger - the gamers get the game they wanted - and the developers get more $.

When your market is screaming out for a product and you deliberately ignore them - that's where companies fail.

So why does this persistent and staunch resistance continue?

If gamers want a game - Let THEM chose which game they want to play.

If you don't give people a CHOICE - they'll make their own - which judging by the game's active community - you can see what that choice is that they're making.

As they say - adapt or perish - and right now it looks like perish is winning this one.
