Thread: Been gone for a month...where's the meta?9 Oct 2013, 21:02 PM So I took some time off CoH2 multiplayer for a while to play Rome II (what a shitstorm of a game that is) and more recently, the BF4 beta. I see there's been some balance patches and some new DLC commanders (some of which have entirely new units/abilities apparently?). Can anyone fill me on the state of the metagame right now? Thread: Ask the Strategist!12 Sep 2013, 19:08 PM I know a lot of high-level players like to use buildings near key strat/resource points to their advantage. What's the best way to do this? Do you want to first capture the key point near the building, then get into the building to deal damage to the enemy squad once they arrive? When they do arrive? do you get out to stop the cap once you've dealt enough damage to give you the advantage in the engagement? Or do you just wait them out and cap it back once they're forced to retreat/soft-retreat? And what about when your opponent just runs past you and tries to cut you off instead? I think it generally hits the closest man at long ranges more often, however not sure. The only way you can some what target an individual is with area of effects weapons, where sometimes you can opt to attack ground and hit that high unit cluster instead of the individual unit all by himself quite some distance asway. Attack ground isn't 100% accurate though so you can still miss that sweet spot sometimes. So do you think it's worth it to order your tank, AT gun, or other AOE weapon to attack ground specifically where the flamer engi, or the PGren with the schrek is standing? Or are you better off just attacking the squad normally with the default right-click? In: Strategy Desk
Thread: Soviet strategy on semois12 Sep 2013, 18:34 PM About "camping buildings"...what's the proper technique? I assume you want to first capture the key point near the building, then get into the building to deal damage to the squad while they try and cap the point? Do you get out to stop the cap once you've dealt enough damage to give you the advantage? Or do you just wait them out and cap it back once they've retreated? Either way...Whenever I try to use buildings like this, my opponent just goes past me and tries to cut me off from the point that I'm trying to protect.
