I've noticed that shift-click doesn't work all the time. If a squad is capturing, and I shift click onto another capture area, they will head on out over there immediately. If you shift click onto the point itself, they will finish capturing and then move on. Curious bug.
If you order a unit to simply move inside of capture point A and then shift-click to capture point B, they will move immediately as the move command to point A has already been completed. You need to order them to actually capture each point to force them to wait to move until the capture is complete. This means that if you want to have them set up in specific cover or stand near the edge of the circle, you'll have to micro it yourself. |
When queuing a retreat command, don't try to use the hotkey (shift+T). That will make the squad retreat immediately. Instead, click the retreat button in the lower right of the UI while holding shift. |
Very useful for creating a safe path for your light vehicles to get from point A to point B while keeping them away from the known location of enemy tanks. |
Because Noun just said Relic "has never and will never suggest or downplay the horrors of the Nazi regime". That's just not true, the Panzer Elite campaign completely glosses over the war crimes and racism that the Wehrmacht committed while the CoH 2 campaign shows in excruciating detail everything that the Russians did.
I'm not saying the Russian campaign was inappropriate like the OP, but picturing Kampfgruppe Lehr as a bunch of heroes and the Soviets as a bunch of war criminals is downplaying the horrors of the Nazi regime. Hope that clears up what I meant.
They don't gloss over it....it's just not part of that particular storyline. |
So that whole Panzer Elite campaign where the Nazis were portrayed as the heroes of the story? That wasn't downplaying the horrors of the Nazi regime?
Just because a character is the protagonist in a story, that doesn't make him a hero. And even if you consider the two brothers in Opposing Fronts' PE campaign to be heroes, it's not like they were the masterminds behind Nazi concentration camps. They were only heroes in terms of their bravery on the battlefield. |
I think both mgs should be given less health/armor but also do more damage. why should suppressed troops not die if you let them sit there under fire?
Because it's about game balance, not realism. They do die eventually, and the closer they are to the pinned troops, the faster they take damage. |
Had this happen to me again at a critical point in a match last night. I just couldn't keep up the dance long enough to kill off the MG crew as a P4 was trying to flank my SU-85 on the other side of the map.
Eventually got pinned and and lost my SU-85 due to my attention being diverted. The Ostheer player,on the other hand, just had to issue the attack order on my flanking Conscripts once and then was able to devote his full attention to the tank battle. How is that fair?
And yes, if it were Grens vs a Maxim, it wouldn't be right either. MG crews (on both sides) need to take more damage against small arms fire. |
For those who argue an "upgun" upgrade or otherwise making the gun more effective against tanks in some fashion... is crazy. Do you know how cheap this tank is? Do you want it effective against infantry and armor? And be cheap? And take 2-3 shots from an Elephant to kill? And Ram? And speed and crush?
No. Unreasonable people want all those things. Reasonable people want it to be better against medium armor and are willing to accept compromises in other areas to keep the game balanced. |
Ughhhh...will this ever end?
No units NEED to be "nerfed" or "buffed". They need to be "balanced" so that provide some sort of value.
Most reasonable arguments regarding the T34 aren't asking for it to be stronger against tanks without some sort compromise. I've seen recommendations like:
- less effective vs infantry
- more effective vs medium armor (so that it can beat a P4 if well microed).
- make Ram a vet 1 ability
You could argue that the sum total of these balancing changes is actually a "nerf", but it's a change that a lot of Soviet players would welcome. |
... and its easy to know if a sector has an opel by the color.
The color on the mini-map? How does it change?
