I can confirm this is a drastic change as I got absolutely steamrolled in two games last night, which never happened to me prior to this update. Seeing as how I suck really bad, it kind of makes sense...so I'm not complaining, I actually think it's a good thing. Though part of my problem was floating a bunch of manpower that I didn't realize I had due to the changes in upkeep. It will take some getting used to. |
Same thing could happen in CoH1, but with TrueSight in CoH2, it's a lot more prevalent. I'd like to see a "grace period" where your attacking unit will continue to pursue its target for a couple seconds even after it's disappeared into the Fog of War. If I'm chasing you and I see you turn around the corner, I'm not going to stop just because I can't see you anymore. I'm going to continue around that corner. |
Is it me, or is the max height of the camera a little higher now than it was in the closed beta? |
For anyone running Radeon HD 6xxx series cards (and maybe others)....
I have an MSI 6950, running drivers from MSI. I was seeing a significant FPS drop during blizzards. I switched my drivers to the latest directly from AMD (though I'm not sure if they were the latest beta or final drivers).
In any case, after changing I saw a noticeable improvement during blizzards and whenever there were a lot of explosions and particle effects happening.

Any word on how long the stress test will go for? |
The sight cone on this thing is just so narrow. Does it at least have a longer sight range than it's German counterpart? I always build a Support Weapons Kampaneya for an AT gun and a mortar, but I never bother with the MG.
I find it's better to try and set up a flamer flank on a German MG, kill the crew, and steal it. This doesn't always work though and when it doesn't, I seem to find myself sorely in need of some sort of suppression, but still can't bring myself to spend the MP on the Soviet MG.

If you're using a Conscript heavy build order, then of course this Commander selection makes sense. The problem is that strategies involving Soviet Tier 1 and/or other Commander-specific infantry aren't all that viable. So the solution is to balance the game to make them more viable, thus creating more Commander options for the Soviet player. Easier said than done, I know. |
