The Panther is a fine tank, but it is riskier to use than an allied TD, due to needing to be closer (and therefore being more vulnerable).
Honestly, I would argue its less risky but I think it could also be a push on that topic due to armor values
The JP4 struggles to penetrate heavy tanks, of which the Soviets and Brits don't really lack. The JP4 is a TD intended to fight other TDs, and it also does really well vs mediums. Axis have the Panther for heavier vehicles, but it's used differently.
I think jp4 is very balanced unit, but if any of the vehicles on this topic could be considered "unwieldly" itd probably be this one.
The Soviets are one of the best lategame factions.
Yeah soviets are definitely the best allied late game faction but I'd still give the late game advantages to axis on the whole axis vs allies. I wasn't even trying to be mean when I said that to him, just legit don't psyche yourself out and throw games because you feel like you're gonna get beat no matter what.

I'm not sure if it is a bug or a feature ;-)
Radio-Net ability seems to behave somehow strange.
The ability guide states:
+10% reload speed per Allied vehicle in the aura.
+5% sight range per Allied vehicle in the aura.
These additional vehicles can be any allied unit, but at least one of them must be a VET 1 Sherman.
Range of aura - 35.
After testing it in Commander Cheat mode:
- it gives +10% reload only once
- it has to be a tank, other allied vehicles give no bonus to reload/sight
- the sight range is granted three times adding up to +15
- if a fourth tank drives into the 35 aura radius the ability springs to +20 sight for the glimpse of a second and returns to +15 after that, same for furher tanks that enter the aura range
- if you have more tanks in your aura range than three and one of it leaves the aura, your sight goes down to +10 although you have still three tanks or more left, this happens for every tank leaving until ypu have +0 sight (even if there are 3 tanks left)
- to get your vison bonus working again all tanks have to leave the area of the aura and then you have to enter with one, two or three tanks again
Seems to work like intended. Maybe change the text at the ability guide at least?
It sounds like a bug per your description and it wouldnt surprise me if a lot of these aura type abilities were bugged to high heaven.
Veterancy bug for years unnoticed anyone? |
Curved shots can only occur when a gun rolls a hit, and then the shell will follow the enemy vehicle regardless of its movement, causing curved projectiles. It can obviously only do that when it can directly target the enemy vehicle. So with direct line of sight.
The question however is whether the curve is a camera angle or replay illusion or real. I suspect it's the former because I highly doubt the maphack (I have no idea how it works) allows to directly target vehicles in the FOW.
Kind of a weird assumption considering units should interact normally when shown, even if it is through the fog of war. But admittedly, I dont know how it works either l0l.
More curious about the brum shot where he gave an attack ground order through shotblockers, never seeing the ATG, but reversing when he realized he was about to give up the ghost. |
Literally 44 people viewing this thread. Do people love drama this much?
We haven't had any good drama for a while I think, probably since the last time Kimbo(l0l) or barton did something controversial. |
From the fact that some top players, said somewhere something. And instead of proper reasoning, we got a list of known names and a bunch of shitshow clips (not all of them, but most of them), which 90% of the ppl wont even watch. They will rather watch AE short video, in which even he made hell of a lot mistakes himself, and maybe some % of them will watch the clips from a perspective "Oh well this guy is indeed a cheater".
For me personally, if Seeking cant prove that his "replay vision bug" exists, then he is a cheater. Other then that, all of this is un-professional and unprepared BS drama.
Hell, this thread is appered even before Seeking made an explanation video. Prove that he is lieing about vision bug, and boom, this is enouth to officially call him cheater. Because is he is not, he wouldnt have lied.
Point is, maybe behind scene in private talks there was a proper reasoning behind all of this. Sad part is public is only looking at pile of shit now. This is why its unprofessional.
I guess my whole thrust is if youre looking for professionalism in an older gaming community for a game that isnt really supported anymore by a bankrupt company, you're just not going to find it, its a non starter complaint.
furthermore, i think the way this was put out was far far far more professional than what I expected. hearing some people tell you, you'd think AE fired off a 2 minute video with no clips, no discussion from top players and at the behest of a late night text from ashablois. |
I dont need to explain it, because I'm not protecting him. He might aswell be a cheater, because cheats do exist and more ofter then not, top players do have private cheats and any private good private cheat requres tuning in anti-cheat meatod. Thats why VAC is being updated weekly in CS:GO.
My point is, instead of throwing community into a pile of garbage, authors of all this should have looked how other companies and anti-cheat companies work when they ban someone. In other words, prepare and verify all the documents, double check it and then give a final verdict without backing off. Well in our case, normal explanation is also would have been nice with reasoning and excact clips which gave this conclusion.
Right now all this drama shows how unprofessional all this situation is.
To me this "unprofessional" argument is just side show apologetics. It reeks of someone getting caught cheating on their partner and then being berated because you went through your phone.
I'll be 100% honest, I have been extremely, extremely hard on balance team and those like AE who are more or less the unofficial guardians of the game now that lelic are AFK. I prefer almost every caster to AE and think he's quite cringe a lot.
HOWEVER, in this scenario, AE did not cowboy this shit himself. He gathered many, many clips, not just one sus 5 seconds moment. He talked to many, many people who are highly respected in this community and people with some institutional knowledge of how the coding works in the game, I repeat, he did not cowboy this shit himself.
Furthermore, where are you expecting the """professionalism""" to come from? Relic doesnt manage this shit anymore, its all community driven and the community aint really professionals as much as we throw that word around.
All in all, this is seriously one of the best and more thorough cheating accusations I've seen in a game community that DOESNT come from the developers. Shit on AE for his cringe on camera, not for going above and beyond to make sure he WASNT unprofessional. |
A_E said they double checked the ML replays with the live casts and found no difference in the fog of war. I'll take that over Rosbone arbitrarily declaring how consistent fog of war is off the top of his head.
As for the gif Rosbone posted, it seems like something else is going on. 1 frame is not enough to explain about 4m of extra LoS gained in the 2nd clip. There's something else involved.
10000%, I'm sure there is a bevy of "soft hacks" for CoH2 as well, just based on length of game being out and the lack of official development continuing. Honestly, when every single player asked says "yeah this looks like cheats" I don't think you can just hand wave that away by blaming replays suddenly. |
Come on, pinpoint accurate "random" shot right into the position of CLOAKED and UNDETECTED ATG?
That alone is well beyond "lucky" or "anticipation".
Not once either, back to back on two different ATGs

The arguments are always the same. What you have written, looks good on paper, but doesn't play out in game.
-The panther is unwieldy to use, has a low ROF and usually is on half hp in the late game, due to the superior SU-85, USF Jackson or British Firefly initial shot at greater range. Hence why only P-IV is built.
The panther is not unwieldly to use, its one of the best tanks in the game. You just can't a-move and win with it like you used to be able to in the early and middle days of the game
-JP-IV has too low pen to do anything until vet, which it takes too long to reach.
What are you having trouble penning on the allied side with a jp4 lol?
-Tiger has the same problems, whilst being limited to one.
Tiger having trouble penning allied armor l0l ok
-The only option is to spam pak 40 as OST or hope you can capture AT guns as OKW.
Before you scream bias, I don't care about which faction I play, I play the factions I win the most with, that has led me to playing SOV>USF>OST>UKF>OKW.
When I play allies, I am confident in the late game. When I play axis, I never feel confident (change your mindset, axis factions are undeniably better late game factions, dont let your lack of confidence lead you to throw engagements you likely win easily with a little micro.) early or late, unless I significantly outplay my opponent early and deny all fuel.
