Conscript and rifleman can easily manhandle grenadier in the early game. On a cramped map the ost is constantly fighting an uphill battle. Most allies light vehicle are practically immune to small arms, with the notable exception of the scout car and the ambulance. The ost might be able to defend with the pak but they are going to lose map control without a light vehicle of their own. Even with the 222 getting the 20mm by default, it's still going to lose horribly against the majority of light vehicle. In: COH2 Balance

T70s are coming! 15 Jul 2015, 10:58 AM Jump back to quoted post15 Jul 2015, 10:52 AMATCF How about we bring back the Flame halftrack´s damage lvl´s back to the BETA period with both flamers having 20dmg, it would work like the original KV-8 but it would not have the crazy VET 2 armor bonus that made it almost impossible to kill, that way it could be a serious threat to infantry but still die to mass AT in a single volley, a real class cannon that could wipe retreating units in seconds! flame doesn't harm vehicle much less light tanks. buffing the halftrack isn't really going to help the ost against stuarts or the t70. It's way to vonurable to small arms fire. It also shouldn't be a threat to the T70 either. People are going to have to realize there is AT guns. No more grens to t3. even with ATG there's no way the ost can maintain decent map control. The axis are going to be tied down to their atg and panzerschreck. Incidentally, the same building that produce the stuart and the t70 also produce artillery. In: COH2 Balance

They just need to shell out munitions for it. 222 upgrade can shoot down planes and pintle MGs from like every tank can as well. Soviets need IS-2/ISU DShK or M5 AA, USF have AAHT or Sherman pintles, OKW have Flak HT or T3 (can also get pintles from Panther or PIV [KT doesn't really count if you really want AA...], but resource penalty make this have a bit more cost opportunity than Ostheer's options for it). the pintle mg42 and the 20mm are not that good at shooting down planes. You would need like 3x pz4 to see the difference. I do think the panzerwerfer is a bit underwhelming atm, but moving it isn't the answer. The improvement from t3 to t4 is substantially smaller than going from t2 to t4. t4 shouldn't be more expensive than t3. OKW Panthers are popular because they hit the battlefield in a reasonable amount of time. the coaxial and hull mg on the okw panther are also substantially better. In: COH2 Balance

T70s are coming! 14 Jul 2015, 22:47 PM Jump back to quoted post14 Jul 2015, 22:34 PMAerohank The problem is that Ostheer simply has no light tank.The 222 is currently in a state where it is cheap enough to be balanced at dealing with M3s and M20s, but too cheap to be an actual threat to Stuarts and T70s. A possible solution would be to make the 221 more expensive but give the mounted MG42 more damage and more penetration. This way the 221 would deal with M3s and be able to at least do respectable damage to the M20. Then, the 222 upgrade could be changed (both in price and performance) to make it actually go toe-toe to with M5 quads, and be a danger to stuarts and T70s as well. the 222 would need a massive buff to make it a threat to the stuarts/t70. The stuart have nearly 2x the hp for starter. normally this would be a job for puma, but it's a doctrine unit. Unless Relic make the puma a default unit.... In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Is the BAR essential?14 Jul 2015, 22:18 PM you do need some type of upgrades for the rifleman. Even the garand equipped rifleman are going to have trouble against the lmg42. if you don't like the bar you can try buying the flamer or the m1919a6. In: US Forces Strategies

People have already played in the past T1+T2 into T4, specially on 2v2+. If you are going to talk about RUSH builds, you need to account for only what is strictly needed to get them. You skip the 75f cost of T3. IF you want to theoricraft timings, you might as well start adding initial fuel cost, possibility of sidegrades and for the case of OKW the magical .71-.73% fuel convertion. is it really viable to skip your pak in trying to rush for your tank? The ost is just going to suffer death by light vehicle if they skip the panzerfaust (t1) or the pak (t2). In: COH2 Balance
