But for the other doctrine they are 350. And their reinforce cost is also based from 350, making them cheaper than Obersoldaten.
And you still get some utility from the glider in form of reinforcement and physic shenanigans.
when the call in have an extra 150 mp premium, there's a problem. I don't consider the vanguard hq glider because it's a dlc doc.
The normal glider is the most obvious call in in the entire game. The glider itself is also fragile and can not be repair. Most glider is going to lose ~50% of its hp if from the landing alone.
the glider shouldn't be a 150 mp premium. ~50 mp is a much better price for the glider.
Hmm, not sure about that. Check these Commandoes out in action.
redwing used vanguard commander and spawn in two commandos with his HQ glider. For 350 mp the commandos are probably fine, but the 150 mp premium on the normal glider needs to go down.
You got your prices screwed up.
Commandos are 350. The glider is 150.
The airlanding officer with glider is 540. In the glider you can build commandos for 350.
So they are not the most expensive ai unit.
only the vanguard glider can spawn more commandos. commandos are effectively a 500 call in for the commandos regiment doctrine.
Commandos are, currently, the ultimate harassment unit (unique & fits their theme, I say)
You are forgetting 2 things:
- Light Gammon bombs are pretty damn good
- They get a -75% received accuracy on retreat at Vet3
Also, their Ambush Bonus (+50% accuracy) is currently bugged:
- Only applies to the first model that fires
- The bonus stays there forever, until the model dies.
First, fix #Vetgate & Ambush bugs, and then we can see how that unit performs.
let's assume the vet and ambush bug get fixed.
First, that smoke grenade and out of combat heal are the only bonus the commandos get at vet 3. it's situational and hardly that much more amazing compared to the usual vet 3. The vet2 bonus for the commandos are also kind of meh.
the vicker might get situational better range at vet 1, but the mg42 get the powerful incendiary power at vet 1 as well.
in fact, the mg42 with incendiary will easily kill a vet1 vicker, assuming it's in range. I don't think there are many buildings placed at the perfect range for the vicker to use its range advantage against another garrisoned mg42. the incendiary allow the mg42 to one burst kill the wasp as well.
Ok so went back to original point saying vickers not as good as MG42. Vickers is vulnerable to getting hit by volks creep because of its lower suppression ability. However, as it picks up vet I would rate it the best MG in the game.
This is really a situational difference and not a failure of design.
if it really is matter of situational difference, then the vicker shouldn't be more expensive.
and I fail to see how the the vet1 bonus on the vicker, which require a building or trench (50mp) to work, is better than the mg42's incendiary rounds.
Vickers kill more /faster models ingame, due low suppression, because you know what baditof? Supression decreases the received damage/accuracy so it actually kills faster ingame but you cant see that on your theorycrafting paper.
really, lower suppression is an advantage? it's a trade off at best. Mg42 have both great suppression and damage that allow it to perform crowd control.
Vicker's lower suppression make it riskier to use.
You'd be right if Ost didn't had access to best HMG in game and sniper.
But they do, no one in his right mind spams grens vs rifles, because thats about the worst thing you can do. Rifles hardcounter grens, not the other way around.
Ost have way more tools at any time then other any allied faction, USF have rifles exclusively at early game. Obviously rifles will beat grens at all stages, that is their intended role and balance.
You can't have wide selection of supporting units AND mainline infantry as strong as opponent, when opponent have ONLY that infantry to pay with.
USF do have access to the .50cal and other units beside the rifleman.
the whole "smoke and flank" meme is idiotic. It encourages the idea that the only valid unit for the American was the rifleman.
Buffing the rifleman instead of buffing stuff like the 57mm or the 50cal promote rifle spam.
they are going to fix/buff the penal satchel, which just bump them back to their previous level of useless.
the satchel should cause damaged engine at 75% hp and destroyed engine at 50 % hp. It would make the penal useful against the axis heavy. Penal would be a high risk high reward unit that can use its satchel to cripple tanks like the king tank or jagdtiger.
the svt-40 themselves should also be more accurate at long range.
even the conscript are better at long range than the penals.
