Thread: CoH2 statistics of top200 ONLY.25 Apr 2021, 10:17 AM i believe hate is not a proper word to use. imo usf and sov are more fun for players to pick and learn. ukf faction performance is really good, but less fun to use. it is more reactive than pro-active for most parts. it has less commanders, less bulletins, less arty and rockets. call in avre and croc are less fun. churchill and ff have less aggression to attack. now it is mostly pop cap restrained. players try to pick valentine for earlier aggressive plays? the recent aec and cromwell buffs, should it a try too, if you want aggression? It was also so anti-historical and anti-realistic that it made me wonder if the developers were Neo's. IIRC, the only units that were upgradeable were OKW. The Soviets should have had cold immunity by default. The "terrible" Russian winter was the winter that the Russians had been surviving since the beginning of time. Also: Armored vehicles were unaffected by blizzard. They should've been affected more as both visibility and traction get much worse. Deep snow would be impassable to any type of AFV. Instead, the game had Ostwind's chasing and wiping Penals in deep snow during a blizzard. I know the game doesn't try to be historically accurate (and I don't care that it isn't) but at that point, they may as well have shown the Penals being wiped by unicorns. yes yes all these can be considered for coh3 weather effects. keep the suggestions coming imagine if coldtech had as much tweaks as the rest of coh2 over the last 3-4 years. we could have seen something really unheralded In: COH2 Balance

It doesn't help that there was 0 interaction between blizzard, deep snow and ice. And IIRC, deep snow had 0 player interaction and was badly placed in most maps. Additionally i would say that the game required the ability to let you choose a loadout once you knew which map you were gonna play. It's already bad enough that we have to choose to bring only 3 commanders between either 9 or +20 for any map layout. Blizzard component just also killed the functionality of several other abilities. i did make another topic about freeing up commanders customisation. imo for coh3, we can look into more freer user inputs and branching game plays. while not too locked into the competitive balance, which is a smaller sphere to be honest when coming from balance pov In: COH2 Balance

Of course an LMG squad beats Cons at long range. So do Grens. That's the point of an LMG upgrade. Cons are a close to mid range squad. the meta has long discouraged static engagement. hence such out come is really theoretical. and also why many are still talking about why grens suck In: COH2 Balance

For actual tournaments and stuff sure, but for automatch it's not really a big deal. Not playing for money or anything. You, in fact, can mount an assault on a position during a blizzard. However, it takes a slightly different playstyle to do so. Blizzard assaults require infantry carriers to bring troops to the frontline where they can take cover from the cold and prevent loss of heat. Firepits aren't necessary for staving off freezing to death, they just return heat to soldiers. Cover protects from the wind which halts loss of heat. Also, infantry carriers provide heat. Blizzard combat is mostly mechanized besides units who upgrade to have resistance to cold or have it by default, like snipers. yes well said. blizzards just open up another path of plays, some like it for the extra branching while the past presentation, blizzard is too mechanical with the countdown timer and all i been saying, randomized the blizzard and shortening the time a bit, add it back to automatch In: COH2 Balance

OTOH, panther has 3 mg(upgrade included) which deals approximately 1~2 lmg. Which means tank can be used to make 1 inf. taking the territory retreat. They are also buildable from the start. At best, engineers from all factions are built upto 2. And they are not at the frontline all the time as a mainline infs are. Meaning they are not there when snares are needed. I do generally agree with pop cap too. ukf RE are generally the hardiest engineers, they can be at the front line as AT with piat, imo that's the design goal, or has always been In: COH2 Balance
