JP4 is great too. It doesnt have the most amazing pen but it's enough for the Churchill's mediocre armor

Jp4 pen is still worse than churchill mediocre armor..
Even panther doesnt 100% pen at max range...
Jp4 - 15 pop
Churchill - 16pop
Panther - 18pop
Hence the problem with churchill.
Instead of nerf chuchill tank somewhat, i always advocate panther armor buff and moving accuracy buff, on vet. It makes scaling better and serves purpose not just against churchills but late game.
A expensive tank like panther, should do better against all allies med tanks. The 90/99 armor is a joke.

For coh3, i hope they work hard on 2 factions, give a good mapped out plan for units progression and scaling, make them asymmetrical, keep the multiple layers of stats variables to tweak. Focus more on tactical positioning/retreat rather insta-2-3 seconds wipes.
We are in need of an upgraded game engine, one to make use of 8 cores cpu, rams and 4K/HDR!
But im afriad Sega will not provide the budget.
Im also fearful Relic will cut down on the available units variables, cost saving on balance.
MS may buy out relic and force them to port to consoles.
So unless we get coh1/2 stats variables with plenty more options, please dont bother.
A dumb down coh3 will flop harder than dow3. Coh is as hardcore PC audience as can be. |

Imo my mid-low level but experienced plays, Axis is hamstrung by costs/perf, especially wehr.
When 4v4 late games, it doesnt matter if you have elefant or panthers, as you are facing multiples 60 range shots from everywhere, your armor dont work against their speed and masses. Elefant take 1 shot, and gets hit by 3-4 shots from everywhere.
You are facing tons of arty off map, multiple upgraded infantry that shreds your static grens.
Hence in my suggestion is to buff panther vet armor as previous topic, make it scale against med tanks for its costs. And make Usf tanks eat up more popcap.

Imo there's much downplaying or stuck in older mindset that wehr team weapons are superior, imo that is not the case now. Team weapons have their own pro and cons and counterable.
Only things like pak how, scott, Churchill, 60 range td with snowball vet bonuses, these are the irritants leftover |
Wehr mortar has just 5 more range than usf, you need to be really pro to maximise that little advantage imo. Usf mortar is faster and more accurate. I don't see it being hard counter as easily. I play 2v2 and some usf goes double mortars in certain maps, and they dominate with the speed and accuracy.
The Pak how has 50% more range than mortar and takes up only 1 more popcap, imo you have such threads, Pak hardcounter wehr team weapons easily |
USF mortar just for smoke? Aren't you downplay it bit much? It just slightly shorter max range, but still outrange support teams. It is faster reload and more accurate aoe. It is very good to kill static wehr units, more so than wehr mortar vs usf.. |
I probably prefer to up its resources usage. Slower scotts with small target size is still QoL since they are never front line units.
Usf is resources abundance the later the game goes on. It forces the usf player to chose between another more expensive scotts or not. |
Pio and Pg cqc dont really negate the speed of maxim or warrant maxim suppression buff.
Rifle nades imo are worst grenades because of 2 things, long animation time and lack of high damage. I think its 80 DMG modifier is 0.75 while usf and brit nades are 1. Even if rifle nades is longr range, it does not scare maxim as much as hand nades scare mg42.
Beside rifle nades does not even outrange maxim range. So you still got to flank and wait for extra animation. The fast 6man pack up makes it easier to dodge and survive and fire back. As opposed to flanking allies who inflict moving damages and/or start to nade you while hmg42 pack up like a picnic.

I dont see how Luch hard counter scott when it is an AI tank?
It pen is so bad worse than Ostwind. It is like 25 vs 70/50 armor, so much roll of chance.
And you need to get really close up scott, dive really deep, exposed itself even more than p4. A simple snare, and you throw away your Luch, while Scott just drive back for auto-repairs..
I may not be top player, but i played tons, watched many many top casts, and Scott simply overperforming is a fact.
The thing with Scott and Pak, and current 60 range TD meta, allies can sit further back and take snipe shots, higher rewards lower risk, which im campaigning against, the exact opposite of QoL.

Imo Puma is the likeliest counter because of 60 range. Even then it needs 4 shot, the same number as Jackson vs P4...but P4 target size is much easier.
Scott is just so fast and small , P4 is going to miss if you dive it, and expose itself to TD, AT.
Ostwind and Luch do less damage. If Usf want to switch scott for pwafer, then Ost and Luch will have a good day.
Scott is simply too cheap for its performance. |
