if the the T34/76's performance was tenable for anything above 1v1 then it would be a different matter.
if this was regarding Ost/OKW/USF or even UKF then it wouldn't matter as they all have solid non-doctrinal tanks.
Exactly. In all honesty I think buffing the 76 to between the current 76 and 85 would put it in line with the Ostheer panzer IV but not quite, while buffing the 85 a bit would make it closer to a Soviet light Panther. You could then adjust prices and go about making the stock army stronger. |
Let me explain this another way, T-34/76 got a massive buff to hmg DPS and currently has a similar DPS to the PZIV 3 hmg that actually PzIV has to pay for.
By accident the same buff went to T-34/76 which was designed to be more of an AT tank. Then people started arguing that T-34/85 is better the KV-1 which in return got significant buffs. And now people claim that these unit should be available to even more commanders.
That is the essence of powercreep. One should actually make both the T-34/85 and Kv-1 less cost efficient since both units are far superior to the PzIV H. If that result to lower Soviet win rates than the faction should be buffed and not the doctrinal units.
Agreed, if doctrinal units get nerfed and the core army buffed, it would improve the faction. |
I disagree with this completely, especially since they get -10% recieved accuracy at vet 1. Not to mention they fight 2 other factions, we cannot just ignore how that effects them just cause Riflemen
Okay but that doesn't give any reason as to why they should be removed. Again, I didn't say it was obscure
Because the thread is about grens, and we don't need to derail it anymore. Grens definitely don't need sandbags, so then what are we talking about here
The thread is about grens and there was a post about removing sandbags from other mainlines to benefit grens, I am not derailing anything, you’re the offtopic one with your personal vendetta. Please stop antagonising and stick to the topic. |
Buffing 1 commander to be at become at same power level as the average of the faction might not even make it meta. Nerfing the the Top choice commander to the average power level of faction greatly increases meta. One can see that with the Spec OP nerfs that greatly increased the OKW commander used.
Again its about nerfing and not buffing, it is also about adding different utility not giving the best tools to every commander.
You are correct about spec ops, but that doesn’t mean it would apply everywhere, especially for the soviets who rely on commander picks to compete.
In general I think factions with several meta commanders like OKW are in a good spot and shouldn’t be nerfed, while factions crutching on one or two commanders could use a nerf if it’s balanced by other buffs. |
Exactly. They could just call them Commandos and be done with it.
The unit needs to be reworked to be less cheesy. It has so much potential. Imagine if this special forces unit, which in real life reached 30 units and 4 assault brigades, could fit a panzerfusiliers role as alternative frontline infantry that could complement Infantry Sections. In real life Commando sections were equipped with a higher number of Bren and Thompson guns than a normal British infantry section, while in late war they switched over to sten guns, so they could be a 3 sten gun and 2 lee enfield 5man squad with the ability to upgrade with 1 bren gun.
You could still get "Infiltration Commandos" as 4 man squads of today's versions that spawn as full squads for 320mp and grenades on cooldown.

No one said it's on an obscure Commander. But it's still not the same as having it no matter which one you chose
Once again, the original post talked about removing sandbags from Volks. I said Riflemen need to be taken into consideration since:
A) Volks need sandbags to be able to contest riflemen closing the distance, otherwise it's too one-sided.
B) Rifles get sandbags in more than one meta commander, so their ability to make them needs to be included in the original post about removing sandbags from mainlines, since it's not obscure but actually a frequent sight.
You never contested either of the two actual points I made, please stop arguing pointless details. |
Again its about we stop buffing commander and start nerfing better designed them...
Disagree, commanders that are bad need to be retooled to fit their theme better and be stronger for their role.
An example would be Luftwaffe supply doctrine, which almost nobody uses. Now imagine this commander getting a Luftwaffe officier and Fallschrimjaegers. Not only would this fit the theme better but we’d also see more of that commander. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not advocating for obscure commanders to become OP, I just think UP commanders should be made effective. |
Rifleman don't have sandbags stock, only with doctrine
He still has to consider it with how meta Heavy cav is in 1v1 and how meta Infantry company is in teamgames. Sandbags are meta, not on some obscure commander nobody plays. |
Removing sandbags from volks and sections is a good thing imo. Both are quite efffective earlier on and one is spammable as hell. I dont play brits a lot but trenches should still be available to sections. Remove salvage from sturms and give sandbags instead, i hardly see salvage used on them. Volks also have salvage so why is it on both?
I think cons can keep their sandbags even after their upgrade. Soviets dont get a normal or stun nade without doctrines. or have trenches/bunkers and have the least healing and smoke options. Cons also either require quite a lot of investment or doctrines to just become more then a support unit. Imo they are too cost ineffective to loose the sandbags.
Just my 2cents.
You didn’t mention riflemen. So volks, a defensive infantry unit whose kar98s have no moving accuracy shouldn’t defend itself from rifles and their far superior close range dps with sandbags, but on the other hand rifles should also win long range engagements by abusing sandbags. |
The entire commander is cheesy garbage. Last time I faced it a Chinese guy kept spamming T34/76s like there was no tomorrow. This entire commander needs an overhaul to fit the theme a lot better.
0CP - KV1 (Heavy tank aids in anti infantry duties and defense)
0CP - T34/85 (Premium medium brawler helping in AT)
0CP - Premium treads and optics (Soviet industry reduced production times by removing non-essential parts. This commander could increase production times by 1.5 in order to give faster tank speeds and improved accuracy)
3CP - Heavy engineers (70 muni upgrade for CEs, doubles repair times, gives them 2 PPSH 41s and allows scavenging wrecks)
3CP - Repair station (Combined with heavy engineers allows rapid repairs of armour)
