Meh it's true, you'd run into pretty significant 5% issues with small arms trying to kill Snipers. You could remove the Sniper's 75% Received Accuracy Retreat bonus though, and the Heroic Critical type be their Retreat bonus. It's a tough situation. The problems are obvious but the solutions aren't. I think all of the following are needed in some form: - A Nerf for Sniper Spam - A Buff for non-Sniper Sniper Counters - 100% Countersnipe Btw does Wehrmacht sniper have a sight radius of 40? opposed to the standard 35 for infantry? This one holds a lot of hidden power in attacking moving around. And the +5 sight range could be moved to veterancy level 1/2. I think it's just one of those perks for facing larger squad sizes. Who attack moves with their Sniper (except against Brits)? Ye that quote 'Ready aim time removed, projectile speed fixed' is something I used from a long time ago Kolaris posted aswell xD slightly more damage vs bunkers is a good idea. Won't make it do more damage vs elite armor, cause that might channel it too much into a niche OR be totally OP when a Wehrmacht player only has Pak + Vet Grenadiers. Heavy T2 is a huge niche though, especially in team games. And I think it has to be a niche unit, because the Sherman is supposed to be the generalist, reliable option. By definition anything that competes with the Sherman would have to be a niche unit. I think they did what they had to do in the game vs 12ocky (Oh wait that's me). They cracked a heavy T2 strat really nicely. I wouldn't buff them further though cause that would make them OP and Croc rush vs Fuel deprived Wehrmacht would be slightly too easy. Since now already the only REAL thing that counters the Croc is a tank. I'd compare the Croc role with Ostwinds, where Ostwinds are pretty good at finishing off a game when you're ahead as Wehr when facing everything except tanks. I'll have to watch that again but I feel they don't crack a last-ditch T2 defense any better than a Sherman, and a Sherman isn't an all-in gamble. Neither is the Ostwind for that matter. It's the same situation really. If you think about making the Croc more viable, a health buff or starting with a Bulldozer are excellent ideas. The problem is the Croc is viable. It's a good purchase on its own merits. It's not, however, when you weigh it against a Sherman. So you want a buff that's not just making the Croc stronger, but that gives it a specialty over the Sherman. A high risk, high reward unit against T2 heavy strats. Things I'd consider: - Higher damage against Elite Armour - Higher damage against Bunkers - Removal of 1.5s Aim Time - Faster Projectile Speed - Larger AoE You want something that excels at driving a T2 player off the map. It's already great against Paks, but it still has trouble hitting moving infantry (Aim Time, Projectile Speed, AoE). Letting it deal with Bunkers without the need for Infantry Co. would be a big help for Armour or Airborne. In: COH Central

The health buff was reverted not only in favor of the +5 range but also the minimum damage buff. I'm not sold on the Bulldozer or .50 Cal because it's not addressing the main issue - the Flamethrower is less effective Anti-Infantry than the Sherman, and the Sherman can handle AV/AT as well. Thread: Elite Mod COH - Download and Changelog28 Nov 2013, 22:10 PM Autocover Tweaks V3 Lots of adjustments to attack order AI in this one. I'm really happy with how everything is working. I hope Tommy can add this into the mod proper once he gets a chance to try it out. The autocover distance is actually more or less irrelevant to squads jumping out of cover. If people find it's too short and squads aren't getting into cover, I could increase it back up without breaking the big fixes. "Idle" AI (Completed Move Orders) Before: - When encountering an enemy, AI tells the squad to move in until all squad members are within 95% weapon range - After reaching 95% weapon range, squad will try to find cover After: - When encountering an enemy, AI tells the squad to find cover - Squad will not move if already in cover - Squad will not move if the target is out of weapon's range "Attack" AI (Attack or Attack Move Orders) Before: - AI tells the squad to move into 100% weapon range - After reaching 100% weapon's range, squad will try to find cover - Over the next ~30 seconds, AI tells squad to move up to 60% weapon's range - Finds cover as it goes After: - AI tells the squad to move into 100% weapon range - After reaching 100% weapon's range, squad will try to find cover - Squad will remain at 100% weapon range - Squad will periodically check for new cover, but won't move out of cover I left the stupid 50% received damage because as little sense as it makes, like 12ocky mentioned it has affected engagements for the past 6 years and changing it now isn't a good idea. This new squad AI really fits with the idea of an "ELITE" mod - it let's you better control your squads, but at the same time you need to pay closer attention to them. You have to keep track of squads that are out of their ideal range and move them in manually. The one outstanding issue is when you give an attack order on an enemy that's in the midst of your squad, like Mp44s or Pioneers. Instead of just dropping and shooting, they'll still hop around. This one is tied to the autocover search radius so I'm not sure what I can do about it though. In: COH Central

The only reason why it's "3.0" is because the additional destruction, coldtech, and truesight. And? Everything he goes into detail on either existed in DoW or CoH or it didn't exist in DoW2. The only real influence DoW2 had on CoH2 had nothing to do with the engine: a move from the positioning oriented combat of vCoH to the ability based combat of DoW2. In: COH2 Gameplay
