The Ostwind is fine as it. The only complaints are from Allied players who can’t deal with the horror of Wehrmacht finally having a window where it can be a proactive, not reactive faction.

Why do guys think the price should be increased?
I mean I think the price is fine/justified. I mean there is already TDs and AT weaponry by the time it arrives. I do not really see why it should be made more expensive when its main focus is Infantry and not Tanks.
I think Centaur should be made cheaper to the way Ostwind currently is in order to make more usage of it. I do not see why it should be 100 fuel now that it is on par with Centaur.
Making it expensive for both I think is a bad resolution.
Both Centaur and Ostwind, should be 90 fuel.
If you dont have AT, then that is clearly the players fault if you cant counter it because you went inf only.
Why make it higher than the price of T34 which can clearly do the role against both inf and tanks. There are even TDs, even doctrinal that costs 80 and 90 fuel. The USF Doc Wolverine and the UKF Achillies both costing 80 fuel.
Why increase their price, makes no sense really!
IDEAL RESOLUTION
for both UKF Centaur and WEHR Ostwind
Both set to 90 fuel. It is fair and sqaure. Bingo!
Improve both UKF and WEHR gameplay!
We are all happy then.
No reason to make it 100 fuel when it has only 1 capability, infantry mainly. Can be countered. It does not counter mediums at all!
Great point. While we're at it, let's also give Wehrmacht a fifth man upgrade that they can get at around minute 5.
Fair and square! |
No, I'm suggesting a means to nerf it that I believe elegantly avoids the knock-on effects of nerfing the units directly.
Whether or not adjustments are necessary is a question for the balance team.
Then why are we having this discussion, if it’s not clear if it’s necessary? |
Did you read the thread?
Yeah. You're making an argument to nerf a particular Ostheer strategy that is incredibly easy to counter. Saying "if necessary" doesn't negate that. |
Maybe, I dunno, counter the weakness of that strategy, instead of nerfing it?

it's amazing how this community is hell bent on ruining this game
for those talking about the centaur can you imagine if it had the speed of an ostwind?
the reason the ostwind wasn't popular wasn't because it was ineffective, it was solely because the panzer was extremely effective against infantry but also a very good medium tank.. the balance team of the past understood this and that is why it wasn't "fixed", but unfortunately this "balance" team completely confused unfavoured with underpowered, ridiculous
so now you have a panzer that still retains it AI and the buffed ostwind that can now support the AT capabilities of the panzer
if the ostwind is going to be a so exceptional at AI plus have the benefit of doing significant damage against tanks then fine but that has to mean the panzer will need to have a significant AI nerf
in reality the ACTUAL balance fix here would of been to nerf the AI of the panzer and slightly buff the ozwinds moving accuracy therefore giving an actual roll to the ostwind.. in truth the ostwind was always effective if people bothered to actually learn how to use it but why bother with it when you can get one of the best medium tanks instead which was still effective against infantry
balance my ass
Absolute rubbish. The Ostwind was a total meme because it absolutely useless. As for the OST Pz4 being good against infantry, lololol. It was passable, at best.

That's my concern as well. But hiding that behind the battle phase system might remedy the issue until an appropriate timing.
Even then, the biggest problem I see is that they're going to be coupled with early PzGrens. Pop smoke, the officer buff and that combo is going to shred pretty much anything. |
I'm not sure. The free, near constant smoke might be a bit much, especially given how well the unit performs in CQC. |
The CP system also worked perfectly well in 1v1 and 2v2. I see no reason why they couldn't use both, with CP req possibly reduced down to 10 or so. There's absolutely no reason for heavy tanks to be a cp0 unlock when so many other units and abilities are tied to CP levels.
As I said before, it doesn't, i.e. Command Panther and IS2 meta.
It's why most call-ins have been removed and tied to tech. |
For all the posts, I have yet to see a single example of people actually getting 15 min Tigers without there a) being a major skill gap between the players b) the game essentially being over already.
I mean, the only replay was the one Sander93 looked at, and that appears to have been the case of a Allied negligence bordering on incompetence.
In particular, the Tiger Ace at 15 mins in a competitive match, seems like a bit of dubious claim.
Sincerely hope the balance exercises caution and thought before ruining something that works perfectly well in 1v1 and 2v2. |
