Nobody had any problem with RE grenades autofiring when it was from their dinky firing positions (which this patch also broke somehow). Now it's suddenly a problem. If they do get made a skillshot, have it do some real damage, even if it requires munitions per shot. |
Okay, I'll bite. Are you actually getting run down by M36 on your side of the field? I mean, you have grenadiers, right? A Pak 40?
I am trying to understand your position but presently it doesnt make sense. Are your pz4s getting dived by M36 or what? |
I really dont think Riflemen need an extra man. Rifle company just needs abilities that are actually useable. Right now the CP requirement, debuff and price of fire up combine to make it only useable in the most niche situations, like running past a solo MG guarding a point and praying to God there's no light vehicles on the field yet, and the flare is too expensive to be useable when it arrives, at which point your mun should be going into weapon rack upgrades before RM get pushed off the map by upgraded axis infantry. At best it sees some use lategame, but by then you should have a major out, who can call in a recon pass for only 5 munitions more.
If these abilities were actually useable, this would be a decent commander already. It doesnt need any stupid gimmicks or 6-man rifles. Just lower CP requirements or munitions costs or both. Especially on fire up, which already gets a nasty debuff that no other sprint in the game has. |
Yeah man just have a sherman already bought to provide smoke cover for the seperately purchased TD to be able to flank the axis heavy lol. Why should USF have to jump through so many hurdles just to punish stupid Axis armor dives?
If your opponent has spammed M36 for some reason, why not push with infantry? If he has M8s or, God forbid, somehow M4 Shermans spammed as well, how did you let him have access to so much fuel?
M36s are already not capable of dives because of their weak armor and hp pool. A competent defensive setup of any sort could snare or destroy them unless you have wasted all your MP on bunkers or mp40 stormtroopers or something. M36 are however used to chase down and punish diving Axis tanks, like the Panther, which can otherwise tank, outrun, or deflect Allied AT options.
If M36 is giving you trouble as an offensive weapon, with its limited sight range and endurance (and zero AI power), I must question your strategy. |
Because 1) most commander tanks are already like that (KV-1, KV-8, T-34-85, OKW Ostwind, Hetzer, etc.) and 2) CP is not a good timing tool because CP gain is very different across modes. In 3v3 and 4v4, 13 CP is way too late for generalist heavy tanks to have a real impact. But lowering it to say 10CP would cause problems in 1v1s.
A heavy tank rush is punished by an early TD that can nullify the heavy's impact by kiting it for just over half the price. Or by pressing the advantage early on with light vehicles and aggressive play (although that's riskier). The new heavy tank timing might need some adjustments (like a build time) but most importantly people just need time to learn to adapt to it.
Just make it require both then. Either way, this whole move just works to erase medium tank and light vehicle play further from the game. Heavy tanks SHOULD be very late-game. |
How about just lowering the cost of Fire Up and Rifle Flares. Fire Up should be 10 munitions, easily, or quite possibly even free, considering you have to wait until CP2 to use it and it comes with that stupid debuff afterwards. And equalize flare cost from 45 munitions to the Pfusilier flares for 35 munitions. Boom, commander is buffed. Although I do admit I would like to see riflemen field defenses rolled into the commander considering this is supposed to be THE rifleman commander... |
Because outside the skill-less arty Fests that is 3v3 and 4v4 call-ins are used as an spectacular clutch, highlighted in its most particular form by SpecOps.
Aren't heavy tanks sort of the epitome of a crutch unit? Why shouldn't they have a CP req of whatever level? Let's say 9 or 10.
What is the rationale for tech reqs for heavy tanks alone? Why couldn't this be logically extended to any other unit? |
Yes that is kind of planned in Fall / Winter patch.
We thought already about it, but this would be the last way to do ( if nothing else works). We would like to have it without CPs.
So right now i think something about 1-2 min build time could already work. And yes with like Tigerace with 9 CP but need t4 on the field can ofc work.
Why no CP reqs for heavy tanks? Are you removing CP requirements from all abilities? What about call-in infantry?
What on earth is the rationale for removing CP req for heavy tanks and heavy tanks alone, considering the likely result that it simply encourages a heavy tank rush?
CP is mostly just a timing mechanic, I don't see why you should be able to draw in a heavy tank before CP hits 10 or something anyway. |
The OP Riflemen meme is a joke to begin with. At vet 3 and 120 mun sink they had absolutely better wipe the floor with any stock infantry in the mid range. And before that they'll get mopped by LMG42 Grens, buffed Ass Grens and the newly popular PzGren spam. PzFusiliers also outperform rifles once theyre equipped with G43s, particularly at short range.
If you're playing ostheer you simply have no excuse for not being able to beat or push out the M36. If you're playing OKW it's tougher, sure, but again its not like USF is going to push you with it either. |
Su85s and Fireflies want to have a serious talk with you, since none of them can beat as effectively (not even cost efficiently) mediums like jacksons do, ON THE MOVE AND TAKING HITS LIKE A CHAMP.
If your own allie bias is biased towards USF, then the problem its not the game unbalance
Why are you diving TDs with medium tanks again?
I assume that is what you are doing, since the M36 itself can't dive, especially when Axis have more snares and effective AT infantry than any of the allies.
In a normal engagement you really shouldn't have a problem pushing the M36 out of the combat area, provided you are supporting your tanks with infantry, and it can't self spot, so I dont imagine it outranging you in any other scenario. |
