This certainly does not bode well.
Someone has made the call based on financials to pull all resources away from COH2 and put them into their moneyshot, AOE4.
I wouldn't put it past Relic to just abandon COH2 now even though the community is doing almost everything for them now.
Just remember, COH1 is still stuck on the broken mess that is 1.71.
Maybe this is a sign of restructuring and the start of a fresh CoH2 team? Relic know the game still makes money so don't abandoned us.
Look at the player counts on steam, SEGA know CoH2 community sticks around unlike warhammer titles (even more recent total war numbers are a fraction of CoH). And a bigger playerbase means more money.
Not just in numbers player wise, but CoH regularly blows TW out the water on twitch numbers every time a major tourney gets released (credit to AE and stormless for that). That's great brand advertising for SEGA. This theory of continued support seems to be backed up by Andy's support of the tourney patch. Relic want competitive coh to continue. |

I think PT is more suited to Ele and spotting scopes more suited to Tiger. Especially as rotation counts as movement and removed LoS buff, this is an issue on Ele and Stug. Why it is powerful in ele doc has always been 222, not upgrading ele itself.
This would be a buff to Tiger VS TDs but a survivability nerf to things like infantry and button. Obviously with a turret tiger would benefit the most from scopes, and allow it to easier deal with Jackson dives etc.
Really I think these two heavies and these two abilities should have been swapped a long time ago.

We already have smoke tigers so a smoke ability on ele to provide some defence vs infantry would be fine I think. And in team games it would promote the use of the Uhu spotlight to work with team play with no more scoped 222 |

The problem is, that Pack-Howitzer can 1-2 shot a PaK40 etc. without RNG, so it is as effective as StuKa-zu-Fuß doing that.
It would be ok if Howitzer lose auto-fire.
Also leIG18 has to be changed too.

I don't feel there's anything wrong with a ATG being decrewed in 2 or 3 shots if it is barrage. But autoattack wipes with minimal micro involved are an issue yes.
Personally I would buff all mortar lethality but remove auto attack from the game. I believe Miragefly said relic were opposed to this however. |

Once upon a time (like 2 or 3 years ago) there was a plan on releasing an article mentioning the "history" of CoH2 meta/gameplay state. It never lift off because it was a lot to digest, edit and work for.
Since file is still public, i just took a look at it and oh boy there were several things i didn't remember from back then.
Give me a year and a semester and i can point out what BS gameplay we had back then.
It would be a fun mod been able to play a certain meta or even better, playing against different factions with different metas.

USF: who cares i don't have a real late game tank when i can just spam P47s. What's popcap? I can just decrew all my Priest and do fine or spam M10 and keep them at base.
Rifles > M20 > Sherman. Repeat for every game.
USF in 1v1 = ez mode
USF in 4v4 = 404 faction not found.
Remember when Captain tier was utter trash, same with Stuart? Anyway, double 1919 with defensive stance. Rifle company with vetted Rifles with flamer. OG Volley fire. OG ZOOK volley fire.
OKW: Kubel with suppression, followed by SwS pushing n crushing units (or just buildings). Volks blobs and OG Chad Obers. Insta win against USF by saving 500 muni or playing against them in Semoisky (SwS + ghost barb wire pinned in the base). Fortifications and KT meta. Phaseshifting JPIV.

I still remember the sheer terror of trying to get double Pak and tellers down before the double T34s arrived. COH has lost a bit of that even though it's more balanced than its ever been. |

What about my suggestion: Remove the RA bonuses associated with the 5man upgrade. All grens should instead receive a 20% DPS increase vs suppressed and pinned units. This will allow better players to use the MG42 more fluidly as they can use the grens to keep the bait squad at bay and the MG can turn to face any flankers.
This will force the allies to retreat their baiting squads earlier, alleviating the MG from worrying about several targets.
Remove faust from fiveman and it will encourage players to stop spamming VSL. They will have to mix in a couple of normal LMG grens like soviets do with penals or UKF with engineers.

You dont give proper answer. Just make fun of logical proposals. USF is on life support. Thats obvious. 2 raketens block USF armor very much. Pak howie is only good thing that USF can field. And Axisfanboys still try to nerf it to ground. Proably they will get what they want. We need major buff for sherman bulldozer and maybe even stock roket arty for USF.

But making rocket arty stock and putting the Scott doctrinal could be an interesting idea. It would be a nerf to USF to 1vs1 and a buff to team games. Maybe we would see more USF in mixed teams when players don't need to rely on a Soviet ally for nondoc arty. (Which is basically mandatory unless you use doctrinal crutches like priest) |
