Tiger Nerfs:
- AOE, Scatter at vet2, Panzer Commander, CP
IS Nerfs
- AOE, Armour, CP
But that isn't the issue. The issue is OKW late-game was focused on Tiger because nothing else worked well against Allied meta strats. Meanwhile Soviets can fall back on ISU and KV2. Brits didn't get any of their heavy tanks nerfed, Croc, AVRE, Churchill and Comet (even though premium medium) didn't receive performance nerfs. USF never relied on Pershing too much in 2v2 and have a bunch of other stuff to crutch on like Bar Blobs, Pak Howitzer, Scott/Calliope + Jackson spam.
OKW didn't even get to 50% WR with Grand Offensive in the last tournament. They will be worse now, especially with UKF buffs because UKF was always the hardest match-up for OKW (talking mostly about 2v2).
Probably because tiger and other heavies were reliably two shotting anything that moves at 45 range while comet and Churchill's apart from the croc are mediocre at best.
It's not like elite armor and HEAT struggled vs KV-2s or ISU before the patch, I imagine it's a solid fallback if you know your opponent is heavy stalling.
Dane casted a game last week of a KV-
2 staller getting spanked by JP, KT and HEAT |
Buff the aura to provide acceleration and speed buffs, this combined with the 10% damage reduction will make it a vehicle to help in the "blitzkrieg" role allowing your medium panzers to close in vs allied TDs
If the damage reduction is just put up to 20 again you'll just see people camping it in a support weapon wall with double sniper. Which was the issue before it was nerfed.
So the mobility buffs with 10% DR would be much better, especially on maps like steppes for those deep flanks. The teamwork role of the unit would be kept too. |
They should have increase CP and increased the cooldown and NERF the ACCELERATION of Heavy tanks. That way they would still be fun to use, everyone loves controlling something powerful but since they would be so slow they would be killed if overextended which also feels fun for the player pulling of killing a overexteneded Heavy tank.
The dev team don't understand you can nerf things while still keeping the fun in the game. Now heavies are like a medium tank with big health pool... wow thats so fun.
I proposed this before the patch. If you watch a lot of the games people complained about tiger or pershing it was due to them having great two shot potential and being able to zoom around the map.
If they weren't so darn mobile (in turret rotation and movement) they wouldn't be half the problem they were at the timing. |
They made the game look like it's in beta again. Instead of fixing missing tooltips, they added more things, that have none. Instead of fixing the balance through subtle changes, they add a gamebreaking ability to T4 of Ostheer (I main Ostheer, by the way) and completely change the faction around this, so that now everyone has to rush T4, because the sooner you get it the more MP you'll spare.
Puma rush tactics to secure armor superiority early from before this patch won't work, because you made it 5CP, just like the Stug III E and so it comes late - irrelevant of whether you have the resources for it, or not, as if it was some gamebreaking OP vehicle everybody moaned about.
IS-2s with their 122mm gun - the 2nd biggest tank-mounted gun in the game, that should basically be long reload-huge damage now barely splashes infantry and has crap armor.
Pershing is no longer a great lategame unit for already lategame-weak Americans, that have to blob masses of infantry lategame to win, so expect USF players to do nothing, but blob. Aren't you trying to make blobbing less viable?
You mirrored tank sizes and made Cromwell into a Panzer IV, are we playing Command and Conquer, where each side has to have the exact same unit in a different skin, or are we playing CoH2? It is but one of many changes, that make the balance of the game a mirror. Stop doing this. Just. STOP.
This is just the tip of the iceberg for me. Instead of making subtle changes to units's stats and balance you mess the goddamn game up so bad the original devs wouldn't know what to do.
Cromwell was changed because it's old role was crushing infantry
most would agree a P4 clone is better than that alternative. |
I wouldn't really call Hans playing with twitch backers is a "fair share of pros", or when other pros do 24h streams and play 4v4 because their brains went into maintenance mode 6 hours ago.
To get to top 20 in 4v4 you have to have 3 friends with stable connection.
For top 10 you need to play at least 3 evenings in a week.
For top 1 you just need have players who are on top 200 level in 2v2.
Its not competitive mode, it never was, it'll never will be, yes, pros play it at times, no they don't do it seriously, outside of Hans, who is a bit too competitive for the mode anyway judging by his reactions there.
If that was true then the likes of Skippy (who has the gameskill of a potted plant at the best of times) would be top 20 years ago.
All modes need skill to break into the top 20.

Ah yes the competitive 4v4 scene where 50% of the games end before starting because someone dropped.
Or where the top players queue together at the same time to end up on a team and roflstomp noobs.
Or the queue alone and get teammates like the ones on SturmPanther’s video.
Or play a decent game that’s absolute chaos and then start flaming eachother and end up reporting eachother, like that teammate SturmPanther had that made posts here complaining.
Truly a great competitive mode......if every single other mode was deleted.
So 1vs1 or 2vs2 is free from toxic players, droppers and flamewars? I don't think so jim.
Maybe you should look back at previous 4vs4 tournements where top 20 1vs1 players were getting their lunch money stolen against well drilled 4vs4 Chads that understood the Commander meta and how different units perform in the larger gamemodes.
Just because it's at times less micro intensive doesn't mean there is less skill involved. You need larger game knowledge and game awareness. |
You said the majority plays 4v4 and they keep the game running.
I answered they’re nothing special because every game has a casual mode and if it wasn’t 4v4 it would be 3v3 or 2v2.
You say there are good 4v4 players (?!?)
Top quality arguing with Helpinghansfan once again.
It's not casual at all if it has it's fair share of pros |
They may have fixed brits but now ostheer is more or less a dead faction. They nerfed the tiger which was the only reasonable way to consistently win with ostheer since they have no builds that will give you mapcontrol compared to the soviets. So the only way to win was to stall the game and wait for the Tiger to save you... now that strategy is gone and with it the entire faction will never be played at a high level again because the dev team gave nothing to compensate for it and no cheaper gren reinforce at T4 isn't gonna win you the game.
All this crying about tiger but people seem to forget Ost have the largest commander roster. Stuff like German Infantry doctrine are even stronger now with the capping speed and reinforcement buff. The likes of twisted tootsy certainly had no issues last patch spanking soviet players with it. And that was without the new T4 buffs.
Lets at least wait a few days to see how the meta pans out before crying that axis are useless shall we?
If there was no 4v4 people would be playing 3v3. If there was no 3v3 either then they’d be playing 2v2. Of course there would always be a more casual game mode, developers aren’t stupid.
In most games the casual audience is larger, coh2 isn’t special in this regard.
And as the largest gamemode it should see it's fair share of balance adjustments. Or have you forgotten pro 4vs4 players play this game too? Certainly I'm sure a few of these "casuals" like sturmpanther or the angry bears would have no issues taking you down in a game. |
And to follow up with the post above, if you're mainly a 4v4 player and you impose your opinions of game balance, kindly remove yourself from these forums, and GO FUCK YOURSELF. 4v4 players aren't playing Company of Heroes 2
Sorry princess but without 4vs4 Chads there would be no patch and CoH2 would have been left to grow dust like DoW3 a while back.
Be thankful for us, 4vs4 saved the playerbase.
