Recovery RE are on the radar to get a bit of a rework because of the recent changes to regular RE. Thx for your post. I did not know that I can upgrade the FA to MOP. This makes a big difference! That being said the FOP offers STrafing Run Recon Run Smoke Artillery Artillery Support Artillery Cover I think you could use some of the above abilities for other commanders like Lend Lease Assault that lack good off maps. Thread: UKF Commander Revamp 202125 Mar 2021, 12:49 PM My 2 cent about Tactical Support: This commander needs some changes. After the recent tech changes "Field Recovery Operation" is even weaker than before because you can simply build engis in the hq. Replace this ability with the flamethrower upgrade. Forward Observation Post is just bad because you need a building to use the quiet powerful abilities. I would suggest to remove this ability and to replace it with either the strafe or the artillery that the FOP provides. Getting a potent off map would make this commander so much better. In: Lobby

Thread: Ostheer Commander Revamp 202119 Mar 2021, 12:33 PM Unit changes: P4 Commando Tank: - Should get the tank commander barrage like the OKW tanks. I think this would make the unit a lot better and several doctrines would benefit from this change. Ability changes: - Flares from Forward Observation point should get a lot more range. - CP requirements for Smoke Bombs reduced from 4 to 2 CP (like the OKW Smoke recon run) - reduce Fuel cost for Breakthrough ability - reduce the mun cost for light arty barrage to 80, currently the ability is too expensive compared to it's impact - G43 for grens should be buffed and the price adjusted to 60 mun if needed I will post ideas for commander changes later. The Wehrmacht version was never used by Relic but has already it's own unit icon. Wehrmacht does not need an other ambush unit because of Stormtroopers that's why I would prefer a true Fallschirm elite inf unit like the US Airbornes at 3 CP. In: Lobby

Instead of taking away the issue (that they did too much damage while being very tough to kill), the balance team took away both. Since it's agreed their durability was too much, either return the G43 or boost the StG they get. Because if 5 Man Grens are useless, no one's going to pick this commander. +1 In: COH2 Gameplay

They are not popular because Obers are not popular in 1v1. That should hopefully change now with the recent changes to the Schwerer. I see them often enough in teamgames and they are very strong. The "problem" of the IR STG44 is clearly not it's performance but the lack of units that can use this weapon upgrade. No other doctrinal weapon upgrade can only be used by 1 unit. Considering that you almost never have more than 2 Obers or just 1 Obers it might be worth considering to give this upgrade to Sturmpios too. IR STG44 could be moved behind t4 so Sturms could only get the upgrade in the late game. I think this would be a fair solution. In: COH2 Balance
