Thread: British balance - Tommy too strong4 Aug 2019, 09:47 AM my main gripe with tommies are: 1. when theyre in cover their long range DPS per model matches that of obersoldaten without the LMG 2. when they get to 5 man their DPS becomes insanely high... higher than even the obersoldaten for 280mp worth of infantry 3. attempting to counter with an mg42 results in a vickers raping your MG 4. attempting to flank with sturms results in them getting melting in seconds 5. attempting to use a mortar to counter the vickers either leads to a UC raping your mortar or infantry or IS simply swarming in and killing the mortar In: COH2 Balance

If you were to implement any buff maybe a small 5-10 MP reduction is about all I can think of. The maxim is bad but I don't think it's so bad that you wouldnt grab it if you have a free squad. At the minimum you can park it in a building and let it die so you deny a VP for a few mins in exchange for 75 mp, and at best you can use it as a standard mg with somewhat gimped stats. it is that bad... when i see a leftover maxim as WM or OKW I would simply ignore or salvage it since getting it even for 75mp would be the equivalent to wasting MP and increasing MP drain (since an MG takes pop) In: COH2 Balance

By that time soviet army was incomparably more experienced then german one as soviets had battle hardened veterans, while germans literally threw at them anyone and everyone who wasn't a woman and was able to hold a gun or panzerfaust. If you want to go by historical accuracy, axis troops should be weakest and least experienced, because all the elites and ones who made it out of previous war are DEAD. Conscripts are called conscripts exclusively for campaign sake, for historical sake, they are as elite as grens or better strelky. even the term conscript for a 1941 era soviet army would be dumb... the bulk of soviet infantry by fall blau (stalingrad) are reservists not conscripts In: COH2 Balance

To put things on perspective, grens are 4 man squads and are as balanced as constripts that are 6 man. %50 more than the other. If that doesnt tell you that some soldiers were better than others... CoH does not have to be historical accurate but what it has to respect the words meaning. ok i have to bust this... historically the soviets didnt have conscripts but reservists... their infantry had 1-2 years prior military training before being sent to the frontline... the germans instead were the ones that mass conscripted infantry after their veteran standing army had been bled dry in barbarossa and fall blau... the volksgrenadiers you see in OKW are the real conscripts without military training... the soviet conscript on the other hand would historically be reservists... and SHOULD be qualitatively superior to german conscripted infantry... In order to get/use faust OH player MUST build either T1 or T2. Thats clearly a side tech concept. really? WM can do it no techs required In: COH2 Balance
