Can someone just explainn with a dmg curve of the paradropped svt, post a cons.grens.ce.rifles same curve and let data speak for itself?

Its not that hard to understand that a weapon upgrade can be in the end a weapon downgrade, at best a dps curve change.

Maybe the point is showing how drastycal the change is, in wich direction and if it is contained or not exploitable in ridiculous ways.

Edit: @vipper i counted 5 svts and 1 mosin. The mosin is harder to see but you can idetify it by the nozzle and the cleaning stick

I can only assume they use penals STV (the only one i think, shared for other units already) and used that as reference.

STV is an upgrade at all ranges over cons mosin.

You do know that X% increase of cons dps is actually much more than X% increase of grens dps, right ?

That's how percentages work...

If that were going to happen, it would've already.

The best we can hope for is to remove as much frustration from the unit as possible. The sheer randomness of countering it without a sniper is one thing that can realistically be changed.

It may be impossible, but that's still the only actual solution.

A unit that completely bypass RA and Armor and other key mechanics of small arms balance, how can it EVER work ?

Small recon long range oriented teams like Jaeger and Pathfinder should be the closest thing to snipers (btw, it's actually more realistic)

Sure, addressing the issue of the randomness of its survivability is great, but beware of the possible issues. Imagine an STG squad at 35 range hitting at every single shot the sniper.

1 and 2 aren't enough: high rof/damage weapon with low accuracy will melt the sniper, unless with buff its durability accordingly and make bolt actions and other high accuracy weapon useless because their accuracy is redundant and their raw damage output too low in any case to even lower a bit of that healthbar set to hold 100% accuracy Thompson.

For it to work, it would require target tables, aka a complete mess.
That, and modifiers for explosive damage and shells.

So I've got a solution.

Actually VG ST does not follow any weapon profile and it is a weapon good at all ranges.


SVT-40, G43, m1 are all semi-auto (carbine according to Relic) and according to weapon profiles should be optimum at mid to long range. The M1 garrant was actually buffed to be better at long range due to the old USF faction design.

Doesn't change that it always behaved like an elite SMG, with the closest thing similar to it being Thompson smg (unless very early in the days, before WFA, the implementation was different than actual STG).

If you ask anyone, ST are basically smg troops.

That behave in a completely different way tho.

The m1 garand is good implementation of an actual "semi auto rifle". Imagine the same slighly buffed (because not given to simple mainlines) for the stv, that's how i would design it.
Instead, the stv-40 is basically an assault rifle atm. So instead of having guards that have magically great mosin we have guards with stv-40.

Unlike m1 and stv, G43 is an upgrade with 1-2 per squad, but is better at long range and synergize with kar98k from those german elite/gren squads. Notice how it keeps the same long range semi auto rifle as the previous two while being asymmetrically balanced. That's the kind of consistency i wish it had.

M1 is the only "carbine", and i'm actually satisfied with the actual m1 carbine for us special forces, mid-ish range semi auto that works well with thompson upgrade.
