I'm certain that many good players rate the T34-85 highly. You fail to understand how important the HP advantage is, since it more than makes up for the P4's faster reload when it comes to tank vs tank brawls. And if you've ever used the T34-85 in game, you'd have learnt that it can survive double AT gun encounters when Shermans and T34-76s would have been vaporised.

The KT's 240 damage shots aren't efficient at taking out 800hp mediums. I favour T34-85 dives in dealing with a KT because an SU85 can zone the KT out, but can never get rid of it.

I also like how you pretend the T34-85 having 40% more mid-range pen (33% near, 50% long) over the T34-76 isn't a big deal. T34-76s are horribly unreliable at penning P4s, and you're dishonestly portraying the T34-85 as similarly unreliable just because "it doesn't have a 100% chance to pen Axis armour". The SU85 doesn't have a 100% chance to pen the Tiger either, but we don't see anyone complaining that it's "unreliable". Since you don't know how tank combat works, P4s have under 75% chance of penning the T34-85 - that's simply the dynamics of medium tank combat. Inserting a youtube video to mock your opponent doesn't magically make your flimsy excuse of an argument valid.

Oh, and most importantly, the initial point which you ignored was that your beloved CODGUY's claims were entirely inaccurate. My point was to highlight that other factions had good infantry/vehicles as well. Even if we assign an arbitrary score of 97 to the OKW P4 and a 95 to the T34-85, it doesn't actually change my point at all. All factions have units that overperform relative to other factions' equivalents, and some factions have tools that are difficult for some other factions to counter, an example being Brits vs the mg42. CODGUY's obsession with OKW having "get out of jail free cards" is pure drivel, as is your fanatical support of his claims.

Bashing someone's opinion by refering to his/her rank, as presented in this thread, is rude.

One can protect his SU-85 or Firefly with mines on the flanks, you can't do that as USF because you don't have mines available unless you pick a right doctrine. Also both SOV and Brits have ATGs with decent penetration that can support you and provide extra DPS. USF ATG will ask you for MU tax and even after you pay that you may or may not pen axis armour. This means that if you make Jackson vulnerable to flanking or just nerf it in other way, USF is dead in lategame. As USF you don't have any reliable lategame AT platform other than Jackson unless you pick a doctrine with Rangers and spend 150 MU on 3 bazookas, this should be good enough for P4, but not for the MetaTiger that you see every game now.

I say Panther and Jackson are okay as they are now. Both are hard to kill, both are very mobile and costly to replace if one is lost.

Also listing T34/85 as the best medium is a joke lol. It fights infantry exactly the same as T34/76 while being 40FU more expensive, taking longer to vet and it still doesn't pen P4 reliably.

Purely a L2P issue on your side. Virtually all good players agree that the T34-85 is the best (or at the very least top 3) medium. Its cost-effectiveness is through the roof since it is highly capable at fighting infantry as well as bullying other mediums. Its health pool also makes it a great choice for taking on the KT.

You might not realise that it has 800 health, more armour, and a lot more pen than the T34-76, but that really matters in tank vs tank fights. Statistically it has approximately a 90% chance of winning 1vs1 against an Ost p4 (significantly higher % chance to pen + 25% more health), which costs 30mp and 10 fuel less. There's literally no medium as cost-efficient as the T34-85.

Ost has plenty of counters to the T34-85, but that doesn't change the fact that the T34-85, in and of itself, is a top-of-class unit. If Ost had a unit that good, you and CODGUY would have quit the game already. Ost P4s already have a slight edge vs Shermans, T34-76s, and Cromwells, but the P4 still gets blown away by T34-85s.

The OKW p4 has high armour that gives it a very light repair burden and great survivability, so certainly an argument can be made that it's the best medium. But dissing the T34-85 simply means you're a really bad player who doesn't understand how incredibly cost-efficient the T34-85 is.

Fallschrimjagers wouldn't be a problem if the faction they were a part of didn't also have the best engineer unit, mainline infantry, artillery, light, medium and heavy armor in the game. OKW has always been overkill.

You mean assault engineers, Riflemen, Pack Howitzer, T70, T34-85, and the Pershing? Yeah having all of those in OKW would be overkill indeed.

Let's also pretend that OKW doesn't have the worst AT gun, 2nd worst HMG, a lack of flamethowers, handheld AT and caches, in addition to the highest tech costs in the game.

This is true. The fact is I don't really want to see Panthers become doctrinal and with that you can't nerf the Jackson. People are acting like it's some jack of all trades impossible to counter vehicle. It literally only does one thing and that is destroy vehicles, particularly tanks...I guess that's why it's a "tank destroyer" yet Wehraboos feel like they should be able to blitz it with a Panzer IV. If the balance team caves to the Wehraboos on this next patch I think I'd seriously be done with this game.

What a loss to the game that would be! But surely instead of quitting you could try playing vs the Easy AI? That'd be the perfect training ground for you to get better at the game. After you get to the level whereby you're able to compete versus the Normal AI, you can come back to us with more of your balance opinions.

There is several problems with Brits atm. We won't see them in the upcoming tournament much.


1: There's no tatical flexibility with Brits. Emplacements are desperatly in need of a rework. For an emplacement faction, they sure get the short end of the stick when it comes to emplacement viability. Motar pit is so despirately needed sometimes with no other barrage weapon availble except base howi but can be countere oh so easily.

2: This patch's dps curve readjustment and the out of cover RA nerf is really forcing people to purchase 5man upgrade even more now. They are severely punished for being out of cover for absolutely no reason other than to reinforce the original factional design which didn't work. One nerf would have been enough but both at the same time is very much Grenades + 5 man + weapon racks is 60 fuel by itself. Imagine any other faction having to pay 60 fuel for their mainlines to perform well.

3: Brit's early game has no light vehicle counter besides from the AEC. Royal engineers has at grenades but no where in the viability of Conscripts or Fausts. The only unit that comes to mind that has soft AV before an AEC and AT gun would be the tank hunter infantry section. That's in a doctrine no one uses. That of which brings me to another point.

4: Brit Commanders are kind of meh. Tatical Support and Vanguard are getting more popular because they both have the Croc and plug up some (not a lot) of holes in the Brit lineup.

5: Cromwell is still bad vs infantry and Brits lack a shock unit.

Whether or not you agree, we will see the results in the tournament that's coming up.

While I've always hated Brits and how they were batshit OP for so many years/patches (and am certainly glad that they're having their well-deserved period of suckage), I do generally agree that Brits aren't very good right now.

The fundamental Brit design is the problem.

For IS: Cover bonus and moving penalty balance each other out on paper, but in reality makes it virtually impossible for Brits to assault any position. Bolster is a nonsensical upgrade which simply shouldn't exist - removing it makes it easier to balance IS. I'd favour scrapping the "faction flavour" and just remove the cover bonus and the moving penalty.

No garrison counter: No flamers, no smoke. Ugh. Sappers need to have non-doctrinal access to flamethrowers.

No indirect fire: If only we could just swap the mortar pit with the 81mm mortar.

Cromwell isn't very good: Yeah, I usually go Centaur instead.


Totally disagree with regards to the AEC. It's an excellent LV counter and with its tread disabling ability you can easily trade it to kill a much more powerful enemy tank.
