2nd Bug Splat while playing the game. Playing 4vs4, about 8 or 9 games played in this patch.
Amount of bug-splats during the game in the previous patch: 0, so 300+ without crashes. |

161,908 playing an hour ago
161,908 24-hour peak
161,908 all-time peak
I will explain why there was 160k Coh2 players on Steamcharts, and nowhere near that in the game.
Steam card farming is quite popular, and many players run the program which emulates you playing the game. You don't need to launch or download the game, the program just pretends that you are playing on Steam. After 2-6 hours of this, your get your cards, which you can sell on Steam.
This is more of the speculation, but it might explain why the servers were fine on Friday, but stuggled on Saturday. The player's jumped to the card farming on Friday, without even downloading the game, which didn't tax Relic's servers at all. The players who actually played the game had to download it, and it is no small game, so a lot of the players didn't even play it on Friday. So come Saturday, card farmers have moved on, while the actual players started logging-into the game and playing, which was more than Relic servers could handle.
Steamcharts are counting everyone, while Relic's ingame online players only show the ones who have connected to the server. |
All brits defense their emplacement to have a brace ability with the fact: it cant move. So it must survive a attack.
what is with other emplacements from other faction? like pak43 ? can it move? have it 900 hp like a 17pdr? no..it has the half of it!
and cant brace...and cant shoot flares, and dont aim they 360 alone, and need a doc and 8cp!
Oh shit, how come nobody realized this before?
All those noobs in 4vs4 never build 17-pounders, while everyones with Fortifications tries to sneak those half-HP PAK43s to snipe armor. I think you should play Brits and dominate everyone with 17-pounders.

4vs4 Close Game, Rank 19, lots of tank action |
Does anyone know when can we expect these reworks to hit the live servers?
The discussion is going nowhere. It is best to hit live and see how it goes from where, like always. |
• British AT emplacement cannot be crewed for additional effects. It just doesn't work.
• AVRE main weapon rotates for no reason, it is stupid because it will have to rotate back in order to shoot the petard, delaying the effect. The turret should not rotate on its own.
• If you repair the command-vehicle from being abandoned, it will not have command-vehicle aura, but you will not be able to convert another vehicle into command-vehicle.

That is not full true.
FBP aka now in DBP alot of changes were for teamgames!
Ele, JT changes are nonsense in 1vs1. For example.
Same to walking stuka etc
Yes its true 1vs1 has always the head on top for patches, but as long I live i fought and will fight for teamgame balance too
And yes Relic knows that 4vs4 has the most playerbase i guess atm.
In past it was 2vs2.
So 4vs4 >2vs2 > 1vs1, > 3vs3 i guess atm.
You were the one who pushed for 4vs4 changes in the DBP, but if it wasn't for you, half of those changes could have easily be dropped and nobody (other modders, 1vs1/2vs2 community) would have fought for it.
And Spring Patch was just competitive tweaks (1vs1, 2vs2) following the DBP. Nobody tests how those changes affect the 4vs4. Commanders are balanced for 1vs1 regardless of how they perform in 4vs4.
And it isn't just the balance patches which have to ensure the good 4vs4 experience. If players have a shit experience in the first 4vs4 games (which is plagued by disconnects, bad matchmaking, must-have commanders being locked, input lag), they aren't going to play more, and they will never even get to the point where they might consider 1vs1 ranked. |
It is simple:
You have to make sure that the 4vs4 games are fun and semi-balanced for the game to grow.
Whatever you call it, a noob mode is a must for the game to function. It is the only way for the friends and community to actually pull outside players and friends, nobody joins the CoH2 scene for 1vs1 competitive experience from the start.
Without the noob/casual mode, the CoH3 community will be made from Coh2 veterans and a small number of new players.
And many players, evidently by the player stats, prefer the chaos, lower skill requirements and unit spam of the 4vs4 mode, even with the shitty matchmaking, balance patches never tested for 4vs4 and input delay.

That is a design decision. Most UKF unit start very strong and have weaker veterancy bonuses. On the other hand as pointed out in previous post Comet gets a number of vet 0 goodies like War-speed, tank-commander, smoke, hammer tracking, grenades.
This is abnormal. Everything else gets better bonuses:
• Cromwell gets supercharged cannon at Vet 3.
• Firefly gets reload speed and damage.
Churchill and Centaur aren't great at veterancy, but at the very least they still get reload bonuses. AVRE gets good bonuses. Croc might be the only other unit which doesn't get reload speed, although vet 1 makes it shoot longer.
Comet is the only tank which doesn't get reload bonuses from the veterancy. It is inconsistent to both UFK and the overall design of Coh2. The more plausible explanation is that people found Comets base performance good enough, so they either forgot or skipped the base-line veterancy improvements. However, Comet was nerfed, so perhaps it should be buffed at Vet 3 with 20% reload speed. |

The main problem of Comet is lacking veterancy. Comet is in a good spot if you are comparing Vet 0 units and mid-game performance: main battle tank, engages all units, utility. However, problems start when everything vets-up and heavy tanks emerge.
It gets no reload speed, pen, damage, armor or health. All it gets is phosphorus shot, 20% movement and 20% accuracy.
Panthers, on the other hand, benefit much more from veterancy which includes both defensive bonuses and reload speed. |
