Thread: Fix Penals7 Jun 2018, 22:51 PM Penals are fine. Nothing more, nothing less. They're about what you'd expect from premium infantry that don't get weapon upgrades. The PTRS sidegrade (3x PTRS so halved AI damage like PGrens) isn't going to kill a well microed light vehicle but does enough consistent damage to zone it. EDIT: You do mean Penals, not Guards, right? Similar symbol and Guards actually are a potent all-rounder unit. Penals are AI or AT, not both at once. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Stuart7 Jun 2018, 20:19 PM Just saying, patch previous to DBP was GCS emergency patch (April 28 IIRC). WBP was March 27th patch (again IIRC). Major patch then. The GCS one was just a Maxim change if memory serves. In: US Forces Strategies

If giving the UKF/USF destroyable bases would change no thing then why just don't give OST and SU nondestroyable ones too (for OKW there might be a solution too)? In theory I'd have no issue with that. The UKF base is the best designed one in the game in my opinion. Having to have an engineer build OST and SOV's base structures adds nothing which is probably why they ditched it for the newer factions. That's the answer to your initial question by the way. This is entirely academic, however. I'm fairly sure the assets don't exist for rebuildable OST and SOV bases (except the HQ which already works like a USF/UKF one) and even if they did it's not enough of an issue for Relic to put in all the work to change it. OKW's a bit different because its structures are functional emplacements that have a field presence. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Pgrens seem like they have been flipped on their head7 Jun 2018, 17:29 PM PGrens are good squads when they're at four models. Buffing the squad outright risks turning them into something unpleasant. PGrens have a similar problem to Shock Troops: they're fairly short range units with their damage output evenly distributed across the squad. Most late game squads are upgraded with one or two slot weapons like an LMG or a pair of G43s. These are much less punishing to lose models from because most of the squad's damage output is in those slot weapons. If you drop a model from an LMG Gren squad you lose a basic rifle. No big deal. If you drop a single model from a PGren model that's 25% of your damage output wiped out. The solution to this is already in the game. In: COH2 Balance

Well sure, if we're assuming the players are a-move blobbers with no concept of positioning and little to no use of cover then the strongest factions are OKW early on and USF later on if they manage to get their BARs up. I am NOT talking about bases which are 100% destroyed but about destroying one Base building (or 2) and then falling back again. The point he was making is that doesn't happen. If you're in a position to destroy the enemy base buildings without losing your tanks then you destroy them all. If you're not, throwing away tanks by attacking the enemy base will probably lose you the game. In: COH2 Balance
