Perhaps it's because we get randoms in about 90% of our games. Needless to say the majority of won games in our streak comes from a time when comets actually had 50 range and arty cover was still useful.
I don't care about team games, but if you say that pre-nerf comets and insta-crit arty cover was balanced then you probably got carried by units instead of skills. |
If you're playing as Brits, a favourite strat of mine is to build 3 IS, tech and get 1-2 Sappers out. This allows you a huge amount of field presence, contests 1 Sturm and 4 Volks of OKW very well and depending on your micro, throw in a sniper =OR= AT gun as well. IS in green cover is god, absolutely murders Grens/Volks and even when unupgraded can still stall them off until you get reinforcements very well.
The first IS is to cap the first connected point, then rush his cutoff, park your IS in a garrison if possible and watch him throw a lot of units to force you off as your second IS caps your side of the map relatively uncontested. Send the third one to flank any MG if available and support the first IS in cutoff. Abuse the insta exit/enter garrison until this get fixed as this allows you to "technically" control the garrison(as his squads are still far away from the garrison and you can just teleport into the garrison to pop some shots and exit out if too much fire is being taken. Then send every single squad you have to his side and not only your opponent has to fight back the cutoff, he also has to contend with a huge wave of reinforcements coming in. Make sure that any low health squads but still have 3 models are pulled back, not retreat and heal them up with medkits. If two models, cap the backlines of your base and queue the retreat so at least they get something useful out. Skip AEC, go for Crom rush. If you have Tac Supp only pick them if Luchs/Flak HT/Ostheer Flame HT comes out. Otherwise just do your best to hold your side until your Crom gets out.
Once the Crom starts rolling you get all attack mode on them. Get the extra man upgrade if you want, if you're comfortable with 4 man just roll with it and get weapon racks. From there pick the most OP doctrine you want and flatten those Jerry bastards with your OPAF abilities. I prefer Balance Mattress and skill commandos with their skill nuke bombs. |
The Scott could be changed to be a mobile arty piece instead of a USF Pack Howie on wheels. Currently it has to compete with HE Shermans with by itself is a very gpod unit. I would change the Scott to be the lite-Priest with increased barrage range, decreased cd and removal of auto fire. And change the AOE to stop one shotting full health models and spread it out over a bigger area. With this it shouldn't overlap roles over the Sherman and serve a niche in the US line up. |

Cons are trash vs STG Volks, Maxims take too long to suppress anything. If you're complaining about zook spam from USF you should take a long hard look at your replays. Land Lease is cancer atm and so does call-in meta. Brits is just LOL. OKW is literally made to handicapped(hello faust change) because Sov T1 were too weak against them.
If OKW still has their faust from min 1 I'll say they're the best faction right now, next to Brits for Allies. |

The people who said that why shouldn't this thread be in balance forums, I didn't because it's not unit specific or saying certain units need buffs(not that I wantes to go into details) . I'm saying that USF is still viable, but that viablity is extremely limited like OKW, only 1-2 docs are viable with extremely low variations in build order. Do this, build that, micro more and if you fail well have fun getting stomped late game. Hell my friend who plays team games says USF is deadweight unless they go CalliOP(the OP unit supporting an otherwise OK roster). Tbh, I feel that vs Wehr I feel fun playing, moving around MGs, sniper(though frustrating) with transition to late game. Vs OKW, I feel that even one little slip up will cost me the game. Feels like fighting Brits with Wehr at times. OKW is such a frustrating faction to play against with a desperate race to beat them before they enter late game. Unlike Wehr's late game where I feel disadvantaged but I feel I have a chance. Not like OKW with infantry walking with vet 4-5 or tanks that will bitchslap any USF tank with any vet they gain, making a binary game of kill them before they even get there or die trying. If I had an option, I would disable matchmaking vs Brits/OKW all together. Brits is also another faction that is PITA to fight against, topped with layers upon layers of bad designs, takes numerous nerfs to even bring them to acceptable levels. OKW is just a chore to fight without abusing every single shit you have. Land Lease, Armor Company, CalliOP are all band aids because every aingle other commander gets dumpstered on.

USF against OST is fine even if it's a tad frustrating playing against a sniper every time. USF against OKW is possible but is more of a chore then a fun match. USF is in a good spot with some tuning here and there and maybe even shuffling some units around in the tech tree. It's more of OKW having balance issues then USF being under powered.
