Good discussion going on about how lights are too defined in the meta. I feel that lights should get a cost decrease in exchange for lethality decrease so infantry aren't bullied to death by LV and cost you the game if you don't get your own LV. I much prefer the infantry play being the main stay instead of becoming supporting units to the LV.
AT guns DO NOT WORK against well-microed lights. Look at the tournament for an example that LV survives well into the late game even bringing vet2/3 with them. ATG's are a waste of MP against T70/AAHT/FlameHT who can just run away to plink at your lone infantry at the other side of the map.
I'm not allied biased, I do play more allies than axis but I don't take any sides when I say ALL lights should be nerfed.
Have fun seeing your ATG getting suppressed/flamed/circled around by lights its designed to counter. Not to mention LV spam into callins cancer meta since 2015 that we have now. |
Title, I've watched and played a 2v2s in preparation for 1v1s from taking a year break. I also watched the current GCS tournament. I've noticed that now everyone and their dog goes LV, doesn't matter what faction it's always an auto pick. Current patch made rushing for mediums blatant suicide since LVs will absolutely demolish your entire army. LV are meant to SUPPORT AND HARRASS, not win the entire game for you.
I'm sick and tired of seeing 444/Puma/T70/AAHT/Luchs every single fucking match I play or watch, it's just boring because there's no strategic thinking involved anymore. Do I try to hold for fast medium or rush lights to win the game for me? Not to mention current OST/SOV matchup it's an autopick MobDef & KV1 leading to extremely stale matches even between different players.
I propose every single light tank gets nerfed significantly so they no longer a must pick for all factions. Especially T70/222/AAHT/FlamerHT as the Luchs is "fairly" balanced by not wiping the entire squad in 10 seconds. |
What's new in the meta? Is LV play still extremely meta? Seeing A LOT OF LIGHTS lately, did something changed? Last I played was DBP patch. |
If they want to make a COH3, I would like it that they make co-op modes like in StarCraft 2. Gives non-comp players something to do and helps maintain the playerbase(co-op players are more than competitive ladder players combined) |
I want the design of COH1 with gameplay of COH2(except target tables, fuck them). With vaulting and true sight included. Make snipers like COH2 and not COH1.

Oh right, the bombing run is pretty opieop against okw trucks, and uncounterable, but typhoons get shot down pretty fast, especially by okw (ost has their pintle 42s too) and railway arty is basically the same as the pinpoint howitzer (if you are referring to the one in special weapons). Then there's Stuka db, which is way better than both, even with the EFA revamp changes. Worth mentioning that AEC can't hit the broadside of a barn on the move (it literally misses buildings sometimes) as well.
Not anymore with the current OKW revamp. Hell I even doubt people will go for the gun upgrade since you literally have to pump out tanks/Obers and thus get the upgrade ASAP. Good freaking luck finding the time for the upgrade before you get overrun by T34s. |
Tested in with someone with OKW/SU and OST/SU. Cons are too damn good for their cost right now. Straight up winning vs Volks close range given they manage to get the jump on them and even trades very effectively with upgunned vetted Volks with their own vet. 2 Cons squads which is not that rare given 4 Cons start will walk over lone upgunned Grens/Volks. A nerf to a bit close range damage would suffice until more tests are done.
Maxims should not do that much damage given their suppression is OK now.
Penals are still too powerful given their cost. Walks over everything without even trying. Light vehicles are kinda neutered against them since its usually 1 LV vs 3 Penals. Penals/Cons combo are even LUL since Cons have AT snare, can hold their own vs infantry and Penals with PTRS will shave snared LVs alive.
Guards are fine with their current performance, no complaints there.
Grenades that just cover the door will wipe any squads trying to exit since you can't control them. I see that some buildings with only one exit will be a death sentence against Bundled nades, LGB.
OKW still gets eaten alive with M3 flamers.
Howitzers as SU are absolute blast to play, just hammering the base non-stop and wiping any unlucky squads the entire match. Forces the opponent to go for off map barrages that exactly pinpoint the place, making current meta commanders weaker vs Howitzer play like Command Panther, Mechanised Assault(the barrage doesn't destroy the piece in one go) and Lightning War.

Well to be fair, some of Brit off maps like Bombing Run(90% health trucks in one go), Typhoon Loiter(targets inf and tanks with ridiculous damage) and pinpoint Howitzer Barrage are pretty damn too good.
Brit grenades and AEC are LUL however. Must have left an pioneer to an AEC for 1 min. |
Can't wait till they go to USF and Brits. I see Brits is going to be a looong list. |
