Thread: Dance-no-more Squad-ai22 Nov 2018, 19:43 PM Here's a bunch of updated plans that anyone can feel free to use in any mod. I made this because I noticed a distinct lack of modding in the SAI department, and because it admittedly does badly need some tuning. So, I whipped this up over a afternoon for the wider community to enjoy. Here's the link! If you take a look into the files, there are two main plans. The generic infantry, and the ranger plans. Use the generic infantry for when support weapons are in the core element, and the ranger plan when they're on the flanks. I would record a video of it in action, but I dont have the rig to do so. Thus, I'll have to explain it; Infantry will no longer bounce around after having been given a attack order, and the cover-searching is a bit smarter and more gradual, resulting in fancy flanking movements and such. Thread: How to fix dismounting mortar squad bug?22 Nov 2018, 02:01 AM I think it could be one of two things; 1. The hold does not have "keep abandoned weapons" (or something like that) enabled. Thread: How to fix dismounting mortar squad bug?20 Nov 2018, 21:58 PM You could try getting rid of the ui/adding a requirement for it for the mortar entity. Just delete the animator_set_action in the action apply of the mortar, or set it on a requirement. As for adding a entity to a squad after the fact, you could try adding it through a slot item, as adding it directly through the upgrade/action apply seems to be a bit buggy in my experience. Spawning a mortar and ordering the squad to capture it could be done through SCAR. Im not exactly sure how, but I remember it being done in a single-player script. Try asking a proper guru like Janne if you cant figure that out. In: Modding and Tools
Thread: Melee combat in CoH3 inspired by Iron Harvest?15 Nov 2018, 21:49 PM I think it'd be simple to do. Make melee itself decently quick and based on simple hit animations like Medieval2 total war/DOW. Make the deaths rely on finisher animations that can be interrupted by explosions and other damage sources. Make better units have a higher chance of dodging and such, so a unit like grenadiers can easily beat some conscripts unless its overwhelming. I think making it a gamble and generally inferior to ranged combat would do it best justice in a post-ww1 CoH game. In: COH2 Gameplay

This archive is a collection of the guts of CoH2 as of June 2014, one of the earliest publicly available versions (Older versions like day1 retail require a password/key). This was just after the release of the western front armies. I'm just putting this here in-case somebody wants to take a look back in time, wants to bring a certain thing back for some reason, or doesn't have the internet connection/know-how to download a old version of the game. All those entries in world-builder are either for placement in the scenario (fog/smoke, fires, etc.), or effects meant for weapons/abilities that remain unused. Sorry mate. In: Modding and Tools

Thread: BGM8 Nov 2018, 08:30 AM Im pretty sure the music is map-specific. You might be able to change the music line in the scenario properties to what you want, or set the theatre to eastern or western. If that doesn't work, you can use SCAR to set the music used. In: Mapping Discussion
