I won't get into how and why CoH is superior and should just be remade and improved because I have been told many times that I'm just looking through some nostalgic glasses which is complete and utter bullshit if you ask me but I guess we're all entitled to our opinions and besides, I'm not here to change any hearts and minds. I'm here to tell the truth. I almost fully agree with this! However, I do think CoH1 should be left alone. Maybe instead of a remake, just sip a big hardware/engine update so the game runs and looks better on modern pc's. For some reason my pc can manage 100 men in CoH2 but not CoH1. Adding some of my own thoughts, I hope CoH3 doesn't go down the route of the current CoH2 or dawn-of-war state. CoH is first and fore-most Real Time TACTICS. Basically, I want me squad-ai, higher weapon damage, random crits, and most of all, full-modability back. If more multi-player centric players dont want that, dont gut it from the game entirely. Have a toggle between a competitive mode and normal mode, or at the very least, leave it in single-player. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: ai_economy19 Dec 2018, 12:39 PM The values are pretty self explanatory, just look really hard at the names. : utility - A score that is applied to the squad when all of its values are added up. Weapons, cost, and health are all taken into account. Leaving it at -1 lets the AI add all those values up, setting it to a number disables that logic. : random_range_offset - A random number that is gotten at the beginning of the game that is applied to the utility value. It can be a positive or negative number in the range. Example; if the utility value is 100, setting the random range to 10 can make it anywhere between 90 and 110 once the ai starts. : per_unit_scale - How much the utility value gets reduced/increased based on how many units of that type are present on the battlefield. Say, if set to 0.5, each unit alive of that time will reduce the value by half. This is mainly used to prevent the AI from spamming units it deems good. : per_unit_scale_historical - Same as the normal scale, but value used for TOW and other SP scenarios. I would recommend using an override to encourage the ai to use more infantry, like what relic does for some of the TOW scenarios. In: Modding and Tools
Thread: How to package sga files?16 Dec 2018, 00:43 AM Im pretty sure its something to do with archive.exe in the main coh2 folder. You could try extracting the entire UI sga, do your changes, then drag the whole data folder onto it. I know its possible to replace game archives without it noticing, as long as its only visual/client-side. Thats how I did my personal fix for the SMG animations. In: Modding and Tools

The tool is fine, the capabilities are all there, its just that certain file-types are locked off and not loaded by the game, or are blocked from being packed by the builder itself. If you really need to use slot items, you could take a look at the unused west-germans battleplan system, but again, it really depends what you need it for. Thread: CTD's For One Faction26 Nov 2018, 11:54 AM Hello! I need some help bug-fixing my mod. It seems that randomly (anywhere from the 10 minute to 1 hour mark), the game will crash when the AI plays as the Wehrmacht faction. All the other factions are fine. I've checked the logs but there's nothing useful there as far as I can tell. I've tested every unit and ability the faction has, and I've also undone recent changes, all to no avail. Thread: How to fix dismounting mortar squad bug?26 Nov 2018, 03:48 AM Well i'm very sure that circle is the selection/animator action that most of the team-weapons have. Getting rid of that action should get rid of the circle, and it shouldn't be too noticeable as the person carrying it has his own. If that doesnt work, it could be something in the weapon_ext of the mortar. You should ask Ragnar if he based his off the MP or SP/Old version of the mortar. In: Modding and Tools
