Just to throw in my 2 cents, I think brits are trash mostly in part to their lack of indirect and their slow mid game that makes them hard to carry to the late.
Quick thoughts/feelings/pls don't rake me over the fires...
Rifle sections - better since the buff they got from the hot fix. Vikers HMG - still kills models too quick to suppress in my opinion. UC -in a good spot. Sappers - in a good spot with AT nade AEC - needs to fall more in line with Puma's role AT gun- is fine Comewell - is alright, could use a moving accuracy buff, anecdotal feels more like the t-34 accuracy. Centar - in comparison to the new and improved Ostwind this thing is trash vs tanks/meds but fits the AI role well. Firefly - Give or take, I'd rather have this unit preform better since its so specific but give it a higher cost (see jackson). Churchill - In a good spot ~ still hands out a fair amount of free vet to AT guns due to low armor and just being slow. Comet - Should get a range buff
TLDR: They rly just need the indirect with a few tweaks in the current meta
Again just my feelings.
centaur and ostwind at is equal standing still and much better on the move for centaur
It's u who said IS2 and churchill, now you accuse me of changing subjects?
cause they are the same heavy tank and doc ? U said tiger kills at gun and at inf, so does croc and us 2 what's it point ? What does it and panther have to do with it as they are Mon doc and have different prices and roles ?
Panther pretty much fights IS2 on equal terms and Panther is stock and so is KT. Churchill is less of a problem now as comet is finally an attractive choice so many Brit players pick Hammer tech.
With AT infantry and AT guns being killed frontally by the Tigers and dedicated tank destroyers bouncing on the Tigers this game is going to be more interesting and balanced. Everyone will have to play sov airborne with IL2 rocket strafe and Snare-34/76. +1 from me.
The 76mm can take out enemy armor way better because of HVAP shells, and insane reload time with veterancy, Radio Net and Combined Arms (reload can get as low as ~2 seconds). The EZ8 is much faster and doesn't need to switch shells. The 105mm is generally more reliable than the Sherman at forcing off infantry.
That being said, all the Sherman variants have always had only very little variation between them, that's not really something that can be fixed. I think the current situation is mostly fine, now they all have some advantages the others don't have, which gives players a lot of options so they can play with whichever ones they prefer, without having one clear winner overshadow all the others.
Nobody's addressed this part, but that's because this is a game, and the same gun in real life doesn't necessarily mean the same performance in-game. Liberties are taken to reinforce a vehicle's roles, and weapons function differently than they would have. The SU-85 and T-34-85 have the same gun, but one is a tank destroyer and the other is a generalist medium tank. The ZiS-3 and SU-76 have the same gun use the same gun, but SU-76 does less damage. The Panzer IV and StuG III have the same gun, the Jagdpanzer and Panther have the same gun, the Panzer II and SdKfz 222, etc. There are many more examples, but for the most part guns are more tied to the unit's role.
Not many people know the T-34's armor had similar armor protection to the infamous Tiger Tank, just a few millimeter's shy of the Tiger's 100mm upper glacis. It's just that Allied armor is downplayed due to the PaK 40's effectiveness, while the Tiger tank is overplayed due to Soviet guns ineffectiveness until the 85mm D-5T was fielded. In actuality the Sherman and T-34 are better armored than anything smaller than a Tiger or Panther, including the all variations of the Panzer IV and StuG series, the bulk of Germany's panzer forces.
that's only if angled, check war thunder is run by Russian dev and they have real armor mm for each tanks
I tried the KV8 in a game that was already decided last night. The DOT is pretty low. I don't know if all flamethrowers are equal, but it only has one compared to the two that the OST flamer has. It took 28-30 seconds to kill a single Panzerfusilier squad that the owner didn't realize was being attacked. I did have to move the tank once which added to the time because the flamethrower stopped. In any event, it isn't what I would consider OP but everybody has different definitions.
I think it works better against AT guns because of the green cover. You could always try putting screening infantry in front of the AT gun.
Late game, the other team tried a rush with P4 against a Pershing and my IS2 and KV8. They got the Pershing and KV8, but not the IS2. The KV8 did regularly penetrate the rear armor of the P4's so I think the pen value is what you listed. I didn't see any notes on the damage but think it is still 80.
pupchen lack said green cover, that's why it has 5 men
