The first thing that needs to be toned down are brits, then WFA factions and EFA factions last. Why? Because EFA factions are the best designed factions in this game by far. No other faction was so well thought through so versatile with such unique playstyle. I agree changes have to be made but soviets and ost are not the part of the problem. Cancerous brits are, dogshit usf is and op okw is. I propose leaving EFA revamp for now and begining from scratch with brits rework and wfa rework after. Don't kill the only 2 factions that are actually fun to play. The idea behind the revamp is that EFA are going to be used as the baseline that all other faction are balanced around. Establishing a base line makes sense. For instance infantry should first be balanced around fighting grenadiers and tds/tanks fighting vs PZIVs. (Too bad that Penal remain WFA level in the mod). True and they should have a solution. One could giving them a normal grenade as soft counter to garrison and giving incendiary/WP/Smoke grenades to call in infantry and/or to SP. Smoke would be a great addition in the faction also. The current issue is that just blob and attack defending infantry frontally denying them cover with the incendiary grenades. In: Lobby
Thread: Call in units6 Jun 2017, 11:34 AM Another aspect of call-in strategies is that one can establish a early field presence due to less investment in teching. So a simply penalty as suggested in Revamp mod might not be enough. A manpower toll should also be introduced. In order to achieve a state where call-in are viable but not spamable there a few changes that can be made: 1) Have increased pop for call-in units without tech 2) Introduce a Tiger ACE style penalty for excessive use of call-in without tech. Thread: Issues affecting infantry fights. 6 Jun 2017, 10:09 AM Apart from the DPS issues there some other issues that upset balance of infantry and imo they should be fix. 1) Sandbags. Imo mainline infantry should not be able to create green cover since it make it too difficult to dislodge. Only exception here being conscripts who if they get buff as proposed should also lose the ability. If for some reason some mainline infantry units are allowed to build cover their contraction speed should be very low. 2) Trenches. The same. 3) Reinforcement time and reinforcement cost should become unrelated. This is partially fixed in the mod but imo it should be standardized for all infantry. 4) Incendiary devices. Hard counter to garrison and cover should be removed from mainline infantry. The only way to balance garrison and cover is if all factions have to use specialized tools against them as a hard counter and not their mainline infantry. VG now are the biggest offender since they can push out of cover most opponents but if the Conscripts have their molotovs buffed as in the new mod they will probably prove equally problematic. (in the case of the OKW ofc their will need to get some other tools to counter garrison) In: Lobby

So, the idea is that playing with T3 only is not really feasible anymore, you'd either need T4 or a Tiger/Ele doctrine? Also, assuming you have BP2 there is no reason not to research BP3 before calling in the Tiger because the penalty would be more than the price for BP3, right? So other than making the first Tiger more expensive this is basically to make T2-only strategies more difficult? Is that a thing? Imo the problem start from the fact that T4 does not have a mainline tank. To make things even worse the option one has is for 2 very expensive specialized units. Finally it gives no other benefits unlike UKFs hammer/anvil. As I pointed out in another thread (https://www.coh2.org/topic/59266/the-issue-with-ostheer-tech-4) the solution lies in fixing one or more of these issues. I do not see how forcing Ostheer to be the only factions that has to tech all their tech levels (while having more the most) as step in the right direction. Imo Ostheer should be allowed to be able to pull T3 or T4 only strategies. In order for that to happen one could give main battle tank in T4 and/or move brumbar to t3 and ostwind in t4. Currently WFA can spam engineer type of units and have minesweepers and weapon on them having better fighting units and faster repair speed while being able to sweep for mines. If one make minesweepers to take all weapon slot and provide repair speed bonuses and vet via repair thing will become allot more balanced. In: COH2 Gameplay

On the other hand having trouble repairing your Pershing? double equip bazookas or bars in your rear echelon and watch your 5 men squads repair it in seconds. Things are rather simple units should gain veterancy doing what they are supposed to, Engineer type units should be separated into 2 categories fighting troops and repair troops. Fighting troops should get fighting bonuses and weapon upgrades and repair troops should be getting repair building bonuses. The easiest way to implement this is to tie this bonuses to minesweeper. Try reading before responding pls. I did not claim that SU-76 is better than the Stug in this mod simply because I have not tested enough. A claim was made that Su-76 and Stug have the same accuracy and I simply pointed out that that was not true. And it is not simply more accurate, it also has 60 range, which means that stug outranges most medium tanks by 25% while Su-76 outranges them by 50% .t The stug has the exact same damage most vehicles have. Its the Su-76 that has lower damage than most vehicles and that is counter weight by the fact that it fire fast and get bonus damage as a veterancy bonus. Because if suggest, that in middle range TD will be 100% accurate that will be means only one thing - dead TD. Mediums more faster and maneurabel that any TD. On middle range TD don't have any chances on win against medium. And don't forget, to shoot at max range, you must have vision, that means you have some spotter nearby to your target. You need to understand the difference or "natural" hit with a hit. The chances a TD scoring a "natural" hit might be around 50% but it will still be able to score a hit vs vehicle via collision especially if the vehicle is moving straight up to the TD. If one has not vision the unit will not fire so the changes to accuracy will have no impact at all. In: COH2 Gameplay

The difference in accuracy becomes narrower in different ranges. So it actually more accurate than the Stug as I pointed out (even if number was off). What is more important thou is the fact that TDs (+60) are too accurate at long ranges especially vs medium tanks that are outranged by x150%. Tds should have lower accuracy than ATG that can not relocate fast and keep the distance. In: COH2 Gameplay
