Pretty obvious if you ask me. I'm not sure about the exact numbers. But I would have faith in the delevoper team if they would implement it. I do think a higher priced but more capable 76mm wouldn't be anyhow more attractive in 1vs1. Obviously it would come out later. But I do think it would be a plus for teamgames where timing and price is of less importance and sheer late game power comes in handy. Having good dps at AI and AT would somehow compensate for low armor and health. I respect your right to your opinion but your opinion needs some consistency, unfortunately I have to point that you are contradicting your previews post. Op is defined by performance in comparison to cost. If a unit is too cost efficient it is op. Having HE and AP shell simply has to be taken into account if you calculate cost. So as I said two times already in this thread a cost adjustment has to be made in that case. According to your own posts, a 76mm with HE/HAVP at current price the 76mm would be too cost efficient and thus OP. I have point out my point of view on this matter and now it is time to move on. The main reason the Elefant misses relatively often is simply because it has relatively poor far accuracy for a TD at 0.03, while most regular TDs have 0.04. In addition SU-85/M36 get their accuracy bonus at vet 2 which is easier to achieve than Elefant's at vet 3 while FF has 0.044 accuracy and one of the longest mid ranges at 45. In: COH2 Balance

Having selected the right shell would be a drastical decision in its outcome. Yes, it would need a price adjustment. So you do agree that Easy ♠'s suggestion to simply to replace AP round with HE round would make the unit OP as I have pointed out it my original post. Now I can not commend about your suggestion unless you actually specify a price. I have to point out it that the higher the price the less attractive it would be for 640 HP tank. That way it would be more useful vs infantry and less useful vs tanks in standard shell mode. The shell switch would be more important and more tactical than it is now. Again without specifics I simply can not comment. There would be very little difference in the importance of switch shell, the unit would simply be stronger in the hand of good players. One of its shells is like beeing a medicore TD, the other shell is like beeing medicore generalist tank. So there is no other unit that can be compared to 76mm. This only would be true if shell switch would be instant, but that is not the case. 76mm can change between role of TD/generalist tank. It is both of two worlds. It is logical to compare its AP shell which has no AI value to the shell of other TDs which have no AI value too. If you want to create a new class of vehicles go ahead but you will have to create a total of 4 to also categorize ISU-152/KV-2/M4A4. I doubt many people will follow your categories and semantics not that important. 76mm would still be closer to medium tank than a TD. That is not very accurate, Guards/Shock troops become OP when they where moved from CP 1 to CP 2. Only this is not about what you have suggested (twice already, but without providing an actual price) but about what Easy ♠ has suggested that 76mm should get HE as is with no price change. So it does more overall damage. Still its OHK-radius is worse thean PZIV and T34/85. This game is about unit preservation. Killing a full four soldier squad is just plainly better than killing 3 soldiers of two different squads each with two single soldiers running away and preserving veterancy and upgrades. Without the menchanism of veterancy and purchasable unit upgrades Sherman HE would be clearly the best AI shell. But as it stands the shell with the higher wipe chance is the stronger one. OHK radius is as follows: PZIV = 1.13 T-34/85 = 1.15 Sherman HE = 1.08 now if in your opinion 0.07 bigger OHK radius is more important than AOE 0.5/1.25/2.25/4 I can not really help you because you are cherry picking a singe stat with minimal difference and painting a false picture. There are two more cost efficient ones in the same faction alone: 76mm: 40 Range 220/180/165 6,35RoF for 380MP/125FU M10: 50 Range 180/160/140 5,85RoF for 300MP/80FU M36: 60 Range 260/240/220 6,55RoF for 400MP/145FU I do think that M10 and M36 have a more cost efficient AT shell. They both do have a Vet1 HVAP shell in addition that drastically improves AT performance for some MU cost. Again cherry picking and quoting half my post just so that you can compare different things. This is what I posted and what you deliberately left out. "The 76mm has the most cost efficient AT shell and it penetration values are way high than other units of its class. M10 and M36 are decided TD and not in the same class as the 76mm. Technically, if you refer to medium tanks, than keep in mind that other medium tanks with lower penetration have good AI damage with the same shell without having to swap. 76mm is premium medium tank, the same way M4A4 is medium tank regardless of switchable rounds. The switch mechanism does not make the unit change class. I have not said that it can do 80 damage to entity on the contrary I clearly said it does not. The damage of these weapons is set 80 and they can do 80 vs hard targets. Now pls move away from this point since it has been cleared. Point here is that some people use the "nominal damage" as argument that the 120mm shell will have the same affect when it hits an infatry squad and thus do the same total damage to all entities of squad when clearly that is not the case. 120mm mortars is closer to Pack howitzer when it come to damage than to other mortars. Allow the user to set up like a HMG/ATG with a predetermined facing or attack move and track targets. I actually find very annoying that one can not set up a mortar and one has to issue an attack order to do so. In: COH2 Gameplay

ISG with accuracy barrage is biggest 120mm enemies since flare was remove. PLS lets leave this myth to rest. The "max damage" might be the same in all mortars at 80 but that is does not say much about it performance vs an infatry squad (where it does not even do 80 damage). It is like saying that all AT guns perform the same because the have the same damage ignoring accuracy/penetration/reload. What is more relevant, is the total damage that all entities of squad will suffer when being hit. In that case 120mm mortars is simply superior to other mortars, as clearly shown by MMX analysis (great job man). PLS check this thread https://www.coh2.org/topic/106172/indirect-fire-performance-a-comparison one can even see how these weapon compare graphically in the DPS chart Fig.3/Fig.5 So no "range and firing arc" are not the only selling points, the 120mm also does more damage to squads than other mortars. (It can even delivery more damage per shot vs hard targets with the vet 1 ability) Being a with "5 mens squad" again does not same much because it can sustain up to 4 entity casualties like the PM-41 and thus is more casualties than other factions.
